The classic Nintendo rivalry. Does Mario just get lucky, or is he truly stronger than bowser?

Bowser just sucks as a villain and a fighter.

I know he is meant to have comic value and all but...He's not funny.

Bowser's supposed to be lovably incompetent as a villain nowadays, with lovably incompetent minions to boot. This is intentional, to lead up to the game when Peach reveals her long love for Bowser, and the two finally marry for real, before a new evil strikes the newly united kingdoms and Mario, jaded, leaves them to their fate, traveling across the world.

Also, the new game will be darker and grittier, with new metal rock and rap styled versions of classic Mario themes.
