You never said that the Government has to hold back on him. It's the military against Ironman. Why get the civilians involved.

You should also know, the government will do what it must to destroy a national threat

Surely he will detect any missiles and simply fly away straight up leaving lots of destroyed cities. No, they will not nuke main population centers.
Even if they did he would be gone before the missiles hit. He doesn't need Extremis to detect them. Your argument is flawed. No wonder this forum is dying.

Your reasoning is flawed. It won't even take a nuke to kill him. He has limited power. Eventually, he tires out and they kill him. It's very simple/

He is continually being solar charged. He does not run out of power except under extreme circumstances. Unless he is trapped without sunlight for a long period of time nothing our world has to offer could stop him. His shield has blocked Nukes before in the savage land.

Like Osama Bin Laden he would simply hide and sleep. He has lots of places he could go others could not follow. You argument is flawed.

well without extremis.. world governments can just track him by satellites and coordinate their attacks with fighter jets and intercept him. tech like ironmans would make a lot of world powers nervous and they would cooperate to get a hold of it or destroy it.

...pretty sure a large Eletromagnetic pulse would take him out.
