Well, someone said that she could walk on air, and control how she rises and falls, that's true, but only if she initiates the process. If she's falling, and she phases, she won't stop, she'll just keep falling with the momentum she had. Which was evidenced in the Breakworld arc. Kitty and Pete fell from a looooong way up, and she knew that she couldn't phase, because she would just keep falling, so Pete grabbed her, armored up, and hit the ground, they were both unharmed. Basically, Nightcrawler takes it, like I said, he's a better fighter, he's faster, more agile, better reflexes, he's got her beat plain and simple.
