Alex Mercer is from the upcoming videogame Prototype. He has the ability to morph into different shapes. He can grow blades, tendrils, and extra muscles. He can disguise himself by absorbing people. Before he became a biological weapon of mass destruction, Alex may have been a scientist. Some incident happens and he's at the morgue. Before people can cut him open he awakens and is loose in the streets of NYC with the military on his ass. Alex uses his powers to find the truth on what happened to him and who he is. Only known relative to Alex is his sister named Dana who is a reporter. Just to sum it up, Alex is an anti-hero badass who we will be having lots of fun playing as when the game comes out.

Since this game has yet to come out, and no one knows or understands his character, this thread is 100% POINTLESS! and I'm shocked you would even make it before the game came out.

But to be fair, even without ever playing the game, Mercer is clearly incredibly awesome.

Some facts on him.

Looks pretty badass to me, can't wait to play the game.

Alex has one of the most impressive healing factors I've ever seen.

*Major Spoilers*

In a cutscene at the end of the game, he was blown to smithereens by an atomic bomb, but he regenerated within a few seconds.

That's crazy!

This game is also one of the BEST games I've ever played! I can't stop playing it. I tried Infamous, I thought it was okay, but PROTOTYOE kicked Infamous's ass.

One is a human with a symbiotic parasite surrounding his body, he has super strength, speed, durability, and can form blades with his body. Oh, and he has organic webbing.

The other is a virus that consumes others to add to its biomass, he has super strength, speed, durability, and can amplify at least his strength through shapeshifting. He is able to shapeshift blades, clubs, spiked whips, claws, and can shapeshift into other human beings(At least). He has a healing factor and by consuming he heals faster. He also gains the knowledge of anyone he consumes.

Yeah, nothing alike.

Meh, regeneration has always been an inconsistent subject at Marvel, at least, that was the case for Logan and Victor.

Bottom line is, they are somewhat alike, neither entirely different, nor entirely the same as you both claimed .

Red? Alex's color scheme is generally black, gray, and maybe some dark brown...

They have similarities, but Alex is not a "ripoff" of Carnage (Which is pretty insulting, considering all Carnage is is a ripoff).

Didn't like this game at all.
