I thought this was fascinating.

Growing Earth Theory states that the only possible explanation for planets, stars and tectonic movement is that the Earth is expanding. Apparently the use of peer review in scientific literature is what prevents them from being taken seriously.

He isn't entirely incorrect from a certain standpoint. The earth is continually gaining mass from debri of meteorites that constantly bombard the earth and thus add to it's mass and so effectively make it "grow"

Obviously the concepts of scale he's proposing are ridiculous as are his testing methods and his presentation (which reads like it's been written by a teenager)

It's quite sad that people dedicate themselves to such bizarre things but then the same has been said about many scientists who were later proven right.

Bardock42
Damn that peer review!!! Always holding the crazies down.

The first time I heard about the Flat Earth Society, I could NOT believe it. It was too overwhelming to believe.

I'm not even sure what Rational Choice Theory is, based on that article. I mean the title sounds good but Objectivism sounds good too.

Not really fair to pick them out of the bunch.

Sure I think they're loony, but looking at it objectively. Is the belief in a Galactic Overlord who captured, froze and them tossed millions(billions?) of aliens into volcanos on a primative Earth; who's souls now inhabit humans and are the reason for all our shortcomings really, (and I mean really) that much of a stretch in rational thought than believing God became a man birthed from a virgin or believing the "one prophet" fly up into heaven on a flying horse?

I don't think any one really believes in the Jedi.

Ace of Knaves
Wasn't the campaign in England based on the concept that all religion is silly and that's why so many people claimed to be Jedi?

Hollow Earth exists, went on an expedition and discovered the South Pole opening during 2006-late 2007. It most definitely exists, rather you believe it does or not. Yes, many extinct animals and plants are thriving miles below your feet, even advanced civilizations of entirely OTHER races. Journey to the Center of the Earth WAS based on true events.

It is truly another world.

I've seen it with my own eyes, don't doubt me, you don't know me.

Hyperborea is the North Pole entrance, I did not go there. South Pole was easier to access, although still very hard to locate exactly. Very, very hard, we had to go on foot for miles and miles, weeks, to even attempt to find it in the first place, flying over and finding the entrance was simply not a possibility.

Others have seen what I've seen, respected and award winning aviator Richard Evelyn Byrd has seen what I've seen, decades before I did. I respect him greatly.

Rear Admiral Richard Evelyn Byrd was a pioneering American polar explorer and famous U.S. Navy aviator. In January of 1956 Admiral Byrd led an expedition to the South Pole. On that expedition he and his crew allegedly penetrated down 2,300 miles into the center of the earth. Admiral Byrd then went on to state that the North and South Poles are only two of many openings into the center of the Earth. He also wrote about seeing a sun below the Earth. In his own personal flight diary, he tells of entering the hollow interior of the Earth, along with U.S. Navy crewmen and traveling 17 miles over mountains, lakes, rivers, green vegetation, and animal life. He tells of seeing tremendous animals which resembled mammoths of antiquity moving through the brush. He eventually found cities and a thriving civilization which was comprised of a highly intelligent race of people that have inhabited Earth for millions of years. His airplane was greeted by flying machines of a type he had never seen before. They escorted him to a safe landing area where he was graciously greeted by emissaries from Agartha. After resting, he and his crew, were taken to meet the king and queen of Agartha. They told him that he had been allowed to enter Agartha only because of his high moral and ethical character. They went on to communicate to him that they worried about the safety of planet, due to the bombs and other testing done above the surface by foreign goverments. After the visit Byrd and his crew were guided back to the surface of the planet.

Google his flight log experience and you will see the actual diary.

I think Jediism is just as daft as any other religion, in fact more believable cause you can actually watch a video about it as opposed to some old book.

Of course you can also go find the person that made it up in the first place, something that's difficult with Hinduism.

Considering Scientology can indeed be proved wrong(for example, hydrogen weaponry was made in the 1940s), a small bit more so. They're all odd, but at least the latter can be convincing at times.
