All right we have all read Battle for the Cowl.. Some loved it.. Some hated it..

Why can't they bring back Bruce Wayne? I suppose DC are trying to match marvel's killing of Captain America.

Let them experiment a little... Who know? Maybe when Bruce comes back, they'll continue this version of the character as an alternate version...

Thats what I thought...accept DC have kinda taken a different path and not killed off Bruce which doesn't surprise me. Isn't Bruce back in the stone age or something? How the hell is he gonna return from that

Grayson can don the costume and gadgets but to me he'll never be the true batman no matter how good he is, this may just be me but I will always consider the true batman to be Bruce Wayne

I have a few suspicions on how Bruce returns from the stone age, but I will wait and see how Morrison does the story..


True there is only one true Batman and his name is Bruce Wayne, but I do think that Dick Grayson will be good

Grayson will do okay. He doesn't have the mind or the intimidation of Bruce. But he's capable...especially as shown in the past year.

bruce was already making sure he would be found at the end of FC...

Is morrison writing this?....thank god i stopped collecting this ...so damien is robin.... ..why do i get the feeling morrison is pushing this uninteresting character down our throats.good luck reading this....i will count myself lucky to have dropped this and all batman titles......though i am a huge Grayson/nightwing/batman fan, and i am glad to see Dick get his time to shine as bats....i aint got no interest in buying this.

Dick's already had a temporary run as Batman (in "Prodigal", just after KnightsEnd), so I don't see what the point is of again making him Batman for such a brief time (which it'll inevitably be). Other than to make ****ing money, of course. Dick's already proven he's a worthy successor when Bruce finally retires/ dies.

Robin/Dick still sucks.....even as Batman.

I'm pretty excited about it. I realize that Marvel just did this with Captain America, but this feels different because Dick's been waiting in the wings for along time.

Now if Jason Todd had taken over, then forget it, it would have been a total rip off... but so far I'm enjoying what I'm seeing from Morison and crew.

Great issue

Ed benes is back on form in a huge way.

Far as Dick goes, i dunno. By my own admission, i'm more a Nightwing fan than a Batman fan (but not by a whole lot), but i just don't like Dick as Batman. I thought he'd stepped out of that shadow a long time ago.

Now that he is Batman, though, i can't imagine anyone (bar Bruce) that would do a better job.

I was very disappointed with Batman 687. I'm not a fan of Winick, but I thought I would try it because it had my favorite character in it.

Man, I should have stayed away. Winick writes the worst dialogue. "you got served" and "hang in there baby" are witty comments? Ugh.

The storyline ended on a cliffhanger, of course. That's standard for Winick. And it's really bad. 5 bucks says the final scene is not resolved in Batman 688.

And overall, it was just more of the same. Everyone is sad. Okay, we already moved past that with batman and robin #1. if anything, Batman 687 should have come out first as a segue into B&R #1. instead by putting it out afterwards, it feels like a step backwards.

He has to maintain the illusion that nothing has changed, that Bruce is still wearing the Cowl, at least to the world at large. Many people had the same complaint with the way he was acting in Streets of Gotham but they fail to see that it's the way he should be otherwise the villains, citizens etc. would catch that Bruce is gone. Check out in Batman & Robin how he acts how he acts when he is around Robin (Damien)/Alfred.

I prefer Dick as Batman, I think.

I'm going to reward DC with my money and collect this run of Dick as Batman and maybe buy a few more copies of prodigal, If enough people do the same they'll be crazy to ignore the fianancial power of Dick staying on a batman

i really did not doubt him, its just that since he was Batman once before and gave it up too easily which at the time was understandable.. now Dick believes Bruce is truly gone so he is trying to get fully immersed as the new Batman..

I hope Dick holds the Batman mantel for another two years. I was enjoying his run, up until recently when it started centering around Bruce. Its too soon to bring him back. Richard has yet to prove the himself and too the world, that he's on par with Bruce/better.

well i don't think he will ever be better then Bruce but i enjoyed him as nightwing and IMO making him batman was a step backwards for his character.....i mean he was living in the shadow of batman for for soooo long then finally he got away and made a decent name for himself then he just drops that and goes back to being in batmans shadow....

Tony Daniels has really impressed me on Batman. I love his work.

Batman 704 was excellent. 705 was solid. Didn't really care for the surprise at the end though. I know Daniel had been building up to it in his past work so it didn't come entirely out of left field. Also didn't like Peacock's uppity attitude.

Detective Comics is amazing. Scott Snyder is awesome.


Not really loving Cornell's run on Batman and Robin. The story arc is just weak. I don't care for the villain at all. I know its a filler issue, but come on!!!!! We need Tomasi on the book right away.
