I've seen some Galactus challenges around that give him a minor edge, but then turn around and stomp him with the defense. So this is a BIG challenge in Galactus' favor, without making it lame-o impossible like saying "Big G with Cosmic Cube and IG".

Galactus is going against DC, first Earth, then DCU.

First off, he's got himself a proportionally sized Mjolnir.

His army :

Herald-ized Wolverine
Herald-ized Cable
Apocalypse as a general with Four Horsemen; WWHulk as War, Mojo as Pestilence, well-fed Parasite as Famine, and Metallo with adamantium enhancements as Death
Backing from Darkseid (base of operations, weapons, primary invasion force)

It's a campaign. With the army of Apokolips invading DC Earth to kick off the party. How does it go from there if Earth is left to fend for itself?

If Galactus succeeds at conquering Earth, he earns Herald-ized Batman and Herald-ized Lex Luthor. And then, how far does he get with DCU?

Anyone else read the What If Thor Became the Herald of Galactus? story?

Big G with a Mjolnir would be sooo cool. And he takes over DC Earth solo.

It's been while since I read it. Though I distinctly remembering Thor saying that he "shuddered" at the thought of the power he would wield when his own Asgardian might being would be augmented by the Power Cosmic.

IIRC though he lost mjolnir as being a herald he was no longer worthy to carry the hammer.

He left it behind when he went to serve Galactus. He picked it up again after being called back to Asgard by Odin's raven. Sees it laying on a dead Odin's chest, and wields it again. Then whips ass before giving Galactus Asgard to eat.

Yeah the art is strange. Esp the cover. It was a good read though...much more interesting than when superman became Herald.

Let me point out something wrong with this scenario. You give him some arbitrary stuff that doesn't make that much of a difference.

And then you give Galactus Darkseid with his full resources as lord of Apokolips.

Darkseid with full resources alone is capable of taking most planets, including DC Earth. But with Galactus himself behind them, how is this not spite? Unless one of the big guns intervene, and I'm talking someone big like Spectre, full power Swampie, etc, then Earth is getting steamrolled.

Mojo as Pestilence would solo Apokolips save for Darkseid. Ditto for War Hulk. Heraldized Cable would solo Apokolips, period.

So I don't see how they're 'arbitrary'.

That's complete and utter bullshit. Not one of those guys is capable of soloing Apokolips. and if you dare bring up DD or Henshaw, both of those two are superior to the heralds in this thread, and Henshaw's technopathy was a HUGE asset. Not to mention the rampant jobbing/crap writing by Apokolips and DS in that story.

Funny how anytime Darkseid gets demolished you complain it was crap writing.

Heraldized Cable would probably be pretty far above herald-level. He's already at that without the Power Cosmic.

A heraldized cable would stomp Darkseid.

Big G stomps Earth Only the top of the food chain would be able to stop this group.

Seems there's a misunderstanding. Darkseid is working WITH Galactus.

On a side note, it's safe to say Herald-Cable WOULD stomp Apokolips, Herald-Wolverine would SSOOO be a threat, and the Horsemen(except for Parasite) would also as a team or individually conquer Apokolips.

Another side note, the characters chosen are for campaign use. Parasite and Metallo(with adamantium enhancements) working together would end Superman and all the Earthbound Kryptonians. They're a big part of the defense pie.

WWH would end the bruisers. Herald-Cable would keep all major weapons in check and deal with oncoming ships(the Watchtower comes to mind). Herald-Wolverine could shred through anything with cosmic strength backing his claws. Mojo decimates the global food supply. Metallo could pack on dangerous weapons and become a deadly ranged weapon. And of course, Darkseid's army to be the primary assault force.

After they take Earth. Herald-Batman and Herald-Luthor join the ranks. That's a cosmic Batman with Superman-level strength, and Luthor's genius and evil wielding the power to do anything.

Can someone tell me why Galactus would need Mjolnir? That makes so sense. He can do everything the hammer does and more. Might as give him a proportionally sized toothpick for attacking since its moot.

I do agree that this is pretty much spite. just too much Fire Powah!!

I believe Mjolnir was given to Galactus in order to offer him some protection against magical attacks ore offer him magical attacks, not sure either way he wouldn't need it.

Galactus doesn't need Mjolnir.

And the only chance DC Earth can win, is with Spectre and Nabu.


As for DCU, Galactus and DS has NO chance whatsoever.

Um, one of those doesn't even know whats going on in the DCU, and two of the others mentioned haven't even been mentioned post-Crisis.

You people are insane. Mojo is only a threat if he's on the dimension for prolonged periods. Metallo does not need adamantium, just a brain. But even then, he's been shut down by Superman alone many times.
WWH? LULZ. Power Cosmic is not going to change the fact that he still fights like a brick. Herald Wolverine?! What possible use can a guy with claws be against the people on that planet? And Cable? Look, the guy was somewhat powerful, and the PC is a good amp. BUT SOLO APOKOLIPS!? None of these guys are capable of that.

The marvel wankery in this thread is ludicrous. Parasite and Metallo vs.....10k Kryptonians? No way in hell they can win that.

As for DC Earth, Galactus and DS&co. are the real threat. They could take earth. The other are irrelevant and any suggestions that they could earth on their own are ludicrous wankery.

Mojo would be the only threat among them, and that's if nobody takes him out before he poisons the earth. Something Darkseid has tech to do in spades. Hellspores, anyone?
