Somebody who is smart but has no real powers (at least nowhere near Thanos).

Tao is a tactical and strategic genius, but not a particularly scientific one. He manipulates his way to power, he doesn't literally build it or anything. So without any kind of parameters which he can work with, Thanos stomps in any scenario.

Although he controls 2/3 of the Creation Wheel in current Wildstorm continuity, which is universal in its power. So I suppose we could cheat and say he wins because of that. In a "standard equipment" fight, however, no chance at all.

What exactly does that mean though? Wits and cunning have to be applied to some endeavor to have any meaning.
