I'm confused here. The title seems like it should be in the comic versus forum. Evangelions are called Protoman and the Gundams are called Ironman? What?

It may be a play on words. The Evangelion is a prototype humanoid. Whereas the gundams are regular mecha, aka "Iron Men." srug
