The Surfer would wish he was fighting Red Hulk again. shifty

This thread definitely has been done before. I remember because of all the exotic ways I figured Surfer could beat Doomsday, basically attacking the source of Doomsday's power. However, those arguing for Doomsday said that, by definition, Doomsday is immune to energy attacks.

So I'm unsure who would win this (also, which Doomsday are we talking about? I'd say Surfer could beat DoS DD, but likely not the more powerful versions).

SS beats any and every DD.

He'll split every atom in DD body while simultaneously opening a black hole in every cell.

and assuming he can be de-volved (it is possible), wouldn't that open dd up to previous harmful things he's "evolved" to counter/withstand? like if he was taken a couple steps back, his dna before he fought the radiant would be inefficient to fight the surfer.

granted the surfer would have to realize that evolution/adaptation is the source of his power, without CA someone like superman could drop the hint to him and that would be that. so it's kinda sketchy if left to his own devices.

but bfr is still an option and could happen with a simple anti-gravity burst.

aside from thanos, big strong muscly types have been useless against the surfer.

Surfer H2H - DD destroys him.
Surfer via direct cosmic energy use - DD destroys him.
Surfer fighting intelligently and using BFR tactics - SS wins.

DD gets a couple, but Norrin should get the majority...

It's much easier for Surfer to control Doomsday than it is for Superman. With absolute control over things like gravity or earth, it wouldn't be very difficult to keep Doomsday from reaching him.

We don't know if it took 12 though.

All we know is that 12 beat him very soundly and in a short time. It's hard to tell how 5 or 10 would've performed.

He had the facilities to hold DD for an extended period of time. And as we found out later, the informing Superman of DD's escape was part of his deal with President Luthor to settle Earth's war debt that was owed to Apokolips.

More proof that H/P had shit writing.

Not really, considering that H/P DD was in all likelihood more powerful than the version DS kept, and that when DS got him, DD was currently dead and thus not any problem to contain.

Also, in H/P Cyborg's uber technopathy probably ensured DD wouldn't be BFR'd.

SS isn't doing sh*t with direct cosmic energy attacks (such as the DNA thing) as on his level, it would be nothing but useless.

Let's not forget that DD was feeding on a guardians energy as well...
Unless it's galactus level..or several heralds worth of energy..that tactic isn't going to work.

Best best is still to use the PC for other indirect ways around DD.

He stated that DD had no internal organs.. nothing was ever said about a nervous system of some kind not existing.

Plus to have an effect on something, energy characters must use...energy...and thus the feedback. DD can adapt to energy fairly easily and keep moving as shown even prior to DOS.

DNA alteration is not a straightforward energy attack. I'm not sure it would even qualify as an 'energy attack' at all...

Question: What if Doomsday were attacked at the Planck scale? This would be an attack on the most fundamental level, striking at the very essence of physical existence, waaayy pre-DNA (even way pre-atomic). I'd decided to step back from actively debating a while back because I came to the realization it was futile (around the time you, I, GS, and demi started having those roundtable discussions about concepts in comics a few years back, if you remember brotha).

Now I just chime in here and there when something is either blatantly ridiculous, do my 'subtle parallel' threads, or when I'm curious on how others view a certain match up. I don't drop the verbose essays I once did though. I only put in the effort where I find it's necessary.

Doubtful as I can't see lunatic absorbing and adapting to guardian energy directly, taking any kind of OE style attack and then easily beating the hell out of DS, or reversing an attack on his nervous system by manipulating energy.

And Lunatik adapted to Surfers attack anyway..he got off the planet not long after that if I remember correctly...

On page four the thread started pointed out the use of the 'strongest version' of Doomsday, to go against Surfer. Before that, it wasn't specified, so I was assuming current/average.
