kimimaro vs. asuma

we never saw much of kimimaro, so i was wondering what impressions of his strength ppl got from him

I think he'd tool Asuma.

Well peak Kimimaro was said to be on par with orochimaru... so id go with kimimaro

where did it say that kimi could be a match for oro?

it doesn't really say that, but before he was stricken with that disease, he was quite powerful. and even in a weakened state due to the disease, he still nearly killed Rock Lee and Gaara before he died. that counts for something.

besides, i think kimi was actually stronger than normal when he appeared in the manga because he was controlling his body with his will alone... i dont think he could feel pain

he couldn't because of that bone layer under his skin that he made after Gaara tried to sand coffin his ass. before that though, he probably just ignored the pain, since the disease probably caused him more harm.

could kakashi even put up a fight then? if what you say is true?

raikiri can pierce nearly anything which is why its considered an S class not an A like chidori, i'm pretty sure kakashi's raikiri can bass through kimimaro's bone layer....

But thats besides the point. i'm still reasonably sure kimimaro wins

if haku can speed in front of the raikiri, who says kimi couldnt evade it?
we've only seen him use it on zabuza, who was held by the ninja hounds (that wouldnt work on kimi) , and pain, who easily ducked it (with only a couple milliseconds of forewarning)... who says he can even do it that fast??

that's exactly it. he dodged Rock Lee's attacks at first like nothing, although R.L. was still recovering from his wounds. but Lee even said himself that Kimimaro was quite agile.

he didnt "speed" there he teleported with the use of his ice mirrors.

assuming that the last 2 pages happened at the same time:
it took kakashi a few seconds to reach zabuza, which i could do. and im not a fast runner...

assuming those pages happened in order of appearance:
it took kakashi about 7 seconds to reach zabuza

either way you look at it, its not that quick if it takes him more than 2 seconds to travel less than 5 yards
