Why would you watch the village more than once? The entire thing hinges on the stupid twist...Once you know it then why would you bother watching it again?

SnakeEyes
Ah yes, I also really like Snyder's Dawn of the Dead.

Yeah, with the remake of Dawn of the Dead there were a lot of Romero fanboys blowing shit all over. Meh, I personally like the gore and the explosions.

The story in episode 1, was good, and the effects were great, and darth maul rocked. I actually have this my 2nd favorite, just because of darth maul and the lightsaber fights.
Yes Jar Jar was quite annoying, he is even more annoying in the CGI clone wars and any episodes with him are crap. That is why the cartoon clone wars from a few years ago is much better I don't think jar jar is even in it? ahmed best who played him is a tool, (he actually said there has never been a real comic character in a star wars movie) umm how about C-3po and R2?
You just have to block him out and don't let him get to you, and remember he was there for the kids, just like the ewoks, they were pretty annoying too, although not as much as jar jar.

As i said about the hulk, take nick nolte out and don't put his story into it and it may of been a good movie, but with the new one bruce's GF (liv tyler) hadn't seen him change. so the first movie is thrown out.

Well Roald Dahl didn't like Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory - so much so he wouldn't sell the rights to the second book, and it's box office performance was deemed less then desirable, like many similar films it's only become popular in recent years.

Ask most Lord of the Rings fans what they think of the likes of Bad Taste, Brain Dead and Meet The Feebles and the large majority will not believe it's from the same director.

Teenage Mutant Turtles, most hardcore fans didn't like the watered down-ness of the movies.

And Power Rangers well it was hardly a movie for the critic was it?

Except that not only is the film generally deemed superior to the book(which I agree with), but it's considered to be one of the best fantasy films ever. I don't know a single person who doesn't love that movie.

That's not necessarily a bad thing.

I know a lot of Turtle fans(including myself) that love the first film's interpretation.

You'll always get those hardcore fans who'll prefer the original work(s), this is a case I've seen many-a-time with fans of the likes of Dahl, Rowling, Crichton and of course King (et. all). I've come across many-a-people who'll despite Wilder and co. best efforts will stay faithful to the book and even pick holes in the silver screen adaptation.

Bad Taste (along with Brain Dead and Meet The Feebles) are those films that are so bad they're good, and from a critical perception you'll find most critics discussing Jackson's career mentioning this it wasn't until Heavenly Creatures he began and indeed the movie world began to take him seriously.

As for TMNT again like my point on Willy Wonka you'll have those who'll stay fiercely loyal to the original incarnation - in this case comics.

And yes whilst I love Power Rangers it was hardly a critical success with many a parent bored out of their skull having to sit through it with their offspring. And unlike say Toy Story or The Goonies it's not a film many people will own up to even possessing.

Impediment
I love The Rocky Horror Picture Show. I've been watching it ever since I was in high school.

Everyone else I know seems to hate it.

Rogue Jedi

Man, alot you guys are listing are ones I like too (as well as some that make me cringe). laughing

I don't exactly have my finger on the pulse of.....anything, but I believe I've heard naysayers for some of my enjoyments below:

Super Mario Bros.
Tank Girl
Red Sonja (c'mon, cheesy bad times)
Bruce Campbell's Alien Apocalypse (people's heads bitten off = FUNNY)
Alien 3 (I really dug the downer minimalistic aspect, and poetic ending)
Jackie Brown (WTF haters?!)
Naked Lunch
Dead & Breakfast (can't believe some people didn't like it)
The Cave (unsuprising monster story, but AWESOME underwater caves)
Hills Have Eyes 2 (remake) (I liked the second one alot)
Prince Caspian (I liked the despair, hoplessness & character flaws)
Elf (it was cute)
Freeway (Reese Whitherspoon) (awesome trash)
Cabin Boy (Chris Elliott FTW)
Little Nicky
Corky Romano (was also cute)
Norm MacDonald movies (Dirty Work & Screwed)
Last of the Mohicans (back up off of my hawt Daniel-day! let me have my lady-moment!)
The Shadow (I don't know if people like this or not, but I never hear them talk about it anymore, and it's an awesome movie)
____________
and I'd like to endorse these movies you guys have listed as indeed AWESOME!! (or at least ok):

Kung Pow (LOVE !!!)
Never been kissed (girly fun)
Godzilla 1998 (is fine, despite over use of French-jibing)
Cloverfield (in spite of annoying whining stars is AWESOME)
Cable Guy (IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE movies of all time)
Death Proof (CANNOT believe some people did't like. genius!)
Deep Blue Sea (smart sharks + Samuel Jackson = WIN)
House on Haunted Hill (remake) (Geoffrey Rush, Famke Janssen, Chris Kattan MADE this movie awesome)
28 Weeks Later (I actually prefer this over the first one)
Deep Rising (another all time favorite)
Zoolander (Merman. It's MERMAN!)
House By The Cemetary (LOVE the suprise inappropriate eye-super-closeups)
Jeepers Creepers (was effing creepy)

I've heard way more positive and good fandom than bad for these: Shaun of the Dead, Dawn of the Dead remake, Mystery Men, John Carpenter's Vampires, Army of Darkness so I'm not including those.

Rogue Jedi
Red Sonja droolio

yeah Salvation was much better than shitfest Terminater 3.I didnt want to see Terminater salvation originally because of T3 and wouldnt have if Bale wasnt in the movie more than likely.

Alpha Centauri
I liked Bad Boys 2.

I thought it was hilarious and fun. Martin Lawrence is brilliant in that scene where he accidentally takes ecstacy.

The Punisher didn't feel like a movie about The Punisher of the comics, to me. It just felt like an action movie featuring a guy dressed as The Punisher. That said, I agree that it's a mischaractisation that he is meant to be some heartless killer. It's precisely because he has a heart that he becomes The Punisher.

You like Elektra, one of the most butchered comic book movies of all time, yet you've maintained an almost eight year long hate campaign against Spider-Man for having organic webshooters? As long as I've been here, nobody has continually surprised me more than you.

Rogue Jedi
I liked BB2 also. Elektra? I tried watching it, ended up throwing it across the living room.

Alpha Centauri
I can definitely understand why people wouldn't like it.

It's a massively flawed movie, but enough of it clicked with me as a comedy that I ended up liking it. That said, I don't understand why a lot of critics thought it was "too cruel". That's one criticism I don't get. I get that it's relatively plotless and relies on explosions (Which isn't enough for me, thus why the comedy is what I got out of it), which isn't good, but I don't get how it's too cruel.

That said, I agree that it's a mischaractisation that he is meant to be some heartless killer. It's precisely because he has a heart that he becomes The Punisher.

-AC

I guess it was a bit lighter than most of the comics, I did think it captured an aspect of him. It was definitely not the Garth Ennis Punisher, but it shouldn't need to be. I thought at least it was a movie with some potential, and pretty fun to watch.

Alpha Centauri
I think it mostly comes down to the fact that it wasn't as gritty as it needed to be (For me personally), and I don't think Thomas Jane was the best choice.

He's a solid actor, I just don't think the role was for him. Not on a physical level or on a conceptual level.

Regarding the latter claim, it's like he thought: "Right, gonna play a normal guy and then OH NO! Family dead. Better become gruff voiced and distant.". It didn't feel like a man who had fallen from a place in life where he was happy, and through his anger and sadness, decided to take up this mantle of The Punisher. It didn't feel like he came across as a man who believes he has no other options.

In the comics, I don't feel like The Punisher ever had the thought: "This would be a GREAT time to become a costumed vigilante...". He just...did. It was like a reflex.

Rogue Jedi
What did you think of the Fantastic Four movies?

Alpha Centauri
I've created better things than those movies on the toilet after a big dinner.

Yeah, I can agree with that. I still didn't think it was a gross misinterpretation, definitlely not one of the worst comic adaptations.Originally posted by AverageSavage

Yeah, I don't think people hate Wes Anderson either.

Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure is one of my guilty pleasures. All of my friends, and, especially, my wife, abhor this film.

The Fantastic Four films had a consistent plot...they were just shit. So, being consistent didn't exactly benefit them.

-AC Never mind, it was a failed joke about poop consistency.

Same as Matt on the Bill & Ted movies, also Steven Segal flicks.

Impediment
The FF movies were shit to me because they so destroyed one of the greatest, and coolest, villains in all of comic books and turned him into a throw away dork with none of his brilliance, arrogance, or presence.

Rogue Jedi
Two words: Street Fighter.

Alpha Centauri
It was one of the worst casting decisions Marvel ever made (Vinnie Jones being the worst). Well, not casting maybe...just portrayals. I dunno how Julian McMahon would have done if he acted him properly.

Robtard
I love the Dolph Lungren Punisher, though most think it's shit; it rightfully is, but I still love it.

Rogue Jedi
Showdown in little Tokyo, Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man.

I'll never understand the hate on that movie.

I really like Cast Away and in my opinion it is the best movie by Tom Hanks in his career but I don't know why but my friends just hate this movie. They think its pace is very slow and is very boring.

I can't tell you (yes you) how many times I've heard people b*tch and moan about how shitty this movie is. Look, Tobe Hooper will never top the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre, so people should'nt go out calling his other movies "shit" just because they don't measure up to his masterpiece. If you don't Like The Fun House, stop watching horror films and go f*ck yourself.

Here's one movie I don't really think that many people hate, because I don't think that many people have seen it. But... I am fairly confident that if most people saw it, they would think it's detestable. I was a fan of these guys' prank-call albums since I was a wee-kid, so I guess that explains why I like this POS.
