Some damn good choices though. John Ryder (Rutger Hauer) is a great one that doesn't get mentioned often.

and nice to see it was the original Hitcher, and not the remake with silly Sean Bean.

I'd personally have said Leatherface, Norman Bates and Harry Cooper but I feel more sorry for 'em then dislike them. So here's my list:
