This was just announced here. It's kind of a shock to see Bryan Singer's name attached, since he just signed on for Battlestar Galactica.
But this is the same project I heard weeks ago was going to be produced by Legendary Pictures, with Warren Ellis writing the script!

Can't wait, I hope it will be just as good as the origional but with out the shakespherian dialogue. Also looking forward to Battlestar Galactica!

But Singer can't really be doing both. He must have to drop out of one of these projects.
Also, I thought Ellis was just being contracted to write a new King Arthur; didn't realize they actually want to remake the best King Arthur film. I guess the disappointment of the recent Clive Owen version, puts a chill into the idea of getting radical and different.

I guess thats hollywood for you. All they are into now are remakes and reboots.

Can't Brian Singer do anything that isn't a remake?
When I first heard about the Battlestar remake... WTF? why?
Now Excalibur?
I predict... failure for both.
I thought King Arthur was a pretty cool flick.

Warner Bros. is actually developing TWO King Arthur/Excalibur films at the same time???
With Guy Ritchie looking to direct the version written by Warren Ellis?

No - Robin Hood is coming in a few months, directed by Ridley Scott.
