This is Darth Sidious from post DE, however he has his physical form restored to its youthful prime, while still retaining all of his post date knowledge, skills and refined abilities.
Versus
Post Kotor Revan
Scenario 1: Both start at different ends of the galaxy and are to kill/assassinate the other, before they are killed. They both may use any means necessary to kill the other, recruiting others, manipulation, force powers, or a direct confrontation.
Scenario 2: Both are in a battle Colosseum and must fight to the death, they may use all their powers and abilities, they are equipped with their saber/s.

Your kidding right? Almost every incarnation of sidious would beat revan.
Board Walker
Maybe I should of done bane.
Wolverine2179
Sidious would still beat bane.
He, according to numerous sources is the most powerful sith lord who ever lived. He has literally accomplished much more with the force than any sith lord in galactic history.
Hell he is the only force user to have ever summoned a force storm powerful enough to "tear a planets surface apart" and "destroy space and time".

should we all just start reporting threads involving unknowns? This is getting really old really fast.

Nemesis: "Awww... It's cute how you think the 'Report' button does something."
truejedi
Nemises Reported me the other day when i was contemplating offing myself. almost drove me over the edge.

Slash_KMC
Almost eh?
Meh, I've only been reported once. It's not like the mods are a constant threatening presence anyways.

Ironically, Luke muses in Sacrifice that he's met only one truly irredeemable person, Palpatine, but also adds that "presumably, even Palpatine was once a little boy, never dreaming that he'd be responsible for the deaths of billions"
Makes you wonder...
truejedi
kinda goes against the idea the OT threw down about someone being lost after going to the dark side, doesn't it? Even in DR, (earliest date i know of where someone is trying to redeem someone else) Yoda is all trying to bring Dooku back.
And Luke claims only Sidious was irredeemable.
Wolverine2179
I would prefer if sidious origins and youth were reviewed, as to what he was like as a child and how he became such an evil bastard.
Lord Lucien
I wouldn't. Every air of mystery in Star Wars is slowly being taken away. I'd like the origins of the most evil and powerful man in the universe's history to remain as such.
Slash_KMC
I agree with the Canadian, some characters should just be left alone now. Especially Sidious and Yoda.

I want a picture book of darth sidious when he was younger, and as he aged.

I want a picture book of darth sidious when he was younger, and as he aged. Theres a young sidious photo with darth plaguies in the essential guide to the force and theres a new picture of dark empire sidious(the young clone) in the Essential Atlas, this new picture makes sidious somehow reminds me of a cross between patrick stewart and christopher walken.
I'll post them when i get home.
Incanus
Only thing Revan can win in this is by a confrontation of fleets.ground armies, because he is a genius. Thats is though, Sidious woops Revan any other way.

Possibly; while it can be assumed that the Emperor isn't much of a military tactition, relying on the likes of General Grievous, Moff Tarkin, Admiral Thrawn, and Darth Vader for the actual conquest, he is a strategist par excellence and canon demonstrates his remarkable proficiency for strategy outside of the realm of politics; it was he who created Operation Shadow Hand which allowed the Remnant to retake vast portions of the galaxy despite the fact that the New Republic held the "winning hand" in overall military terms.
Darth_Glentract
Wasn't Palpatine responsible for a lot of the military decisions the Empire made? Wasn't Endor his plan? True, it didn't work out so well for him, but it wasn't a bad concept. I wouldn't say he is tactically inept. Plus, I think battle meditation users have to have a good grasp of military strategy to use it effective and he used it on the largest scale of anyone we've seen.
Gideon
Darth_Glentract
True, it didn't work out so well for him,
He certainly wasn't a happy camper in free fall.

Edit: Hit the enter button too quickly. There was going to be more to this. Suffice it to say, no, I don't think he was tactically inept... but I don't think he had flair for it like others.
Darth_Glentract
Yeah blowing up your flagship with you mind, letting the galaxy gun shoot your empires capital, and putting bottomless chasm for someone to throw you down in your throne room might not be all that sound a plan.
Lord Lucien
Well not with that attitude.
