Grant Morrison's run (Batman & Son, Black Glove & Batman: R.I.P.) is what I consider the best Batman story along with Whatever happened to the Caped Crusader ? by Neil Gaiman.

Its a real toss-up. Its either Long Halloween and Dark Victory or Dark Knight Returns and Year One
