It doesn't have to be YouTube, but post a VIDEO CLIP of what you consider to be Cinema's most important/awesomest/best scene.

This is mine:

Riggs......Murtaugh.......McClane....Bruce Wayne...........can all suck a dead duck's dick.

Major Kong rode a f*cking A-Bomb laughing and a-whoopin'.

Balls to the wall, indeed.

The ending scene from Paths of Glory. I'd recommend watching the entire film asap if you've not seen it. It's one of the best films ever made and imo is Kubrick's best film.

MildPossession
URGH! I would have freaked if I saw that Pee Wee scene when younger!!

The two scenes involving the girl in the red coat from Schindler's list are up there with the best of them.

Pretty much I win in this thread with this scene:

1g-sfrQnwwg

Incredibly haunting, disturbing, emotional, and sad all roll into one gorgeous performance.

Just to overkill any other competition here is another flick.

I should throw in some Kurosawa...mmm

Nah! you folks get the idea by now.

I now claim my crown.

Ms.Marvel
spaghetti westerns are boring though.

EvilAngel

Sorry but i prefer this over the Once upon a time in the west.

WhoopeeDee
I think both are simply amazing...but The good, the bad and ugly are more allegorical...whereas Once Upon a Time is more of REVENGE!

Not as boring as your beloved and treasure romantic comedies.

BLAGH!

jaden101
Some excellent choices in this thread, I have to say.

The Saving Private Ryan one is definitely iconic and astounding. I still remember the hype building around it before the film was released and it's one of the few scenes that delivered on that hype.

Ms.Marvel
yeah ive never seen a movie that more accurately shows what its really like to be a soldier. its not romanticized.

The Nuul
Forrest Gimp running for the first time.

From The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HWvvnn68iB8

Just absolutely gorgeous to look at, especially when Jesse Jame's body is silhouetted, and walks through the smoke.

Also, another from The Shining, but the opening credits, wonderful opening credits with the music:

The Oldboy fight scene. I can't post a link, look it up.

<drools>

FistOfThe North
Couldn't find a good clip on youtube of it but basically the LOTR "Two Towers" opening scene with the mountains and the music. And the ending scene when the camera hurredly scrolls up for a bit then slows down over a rocky mountain only to fully reveal the land of Mordor with a violently erupting Mount Doom and further away a barely visible Saurons' Tower.

The ironically angelic and soft symphony accompanied by the thunder and lighting in that scene were just perfect.

Then the film slowly faded to black, and the credits appeared.

How is that Shining scene most rare? that's on the dvd I have, it was on the VHS tape we watched in college, and it was on the dvd I had before I got the edition I have now...

Now! this is not a scene I think it amazing, but Oldboy has been mentioned and I thought I would share with you that same scene from the remake of Oldboy, the laughable Bollywood remake, for those interested. It's a terrible film, they even changed the twist:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Q-rW1FZMX8

Oh, and it's amazing, if you look you can see METAL bars bending really easily.

As much as I don't like the LotR films, there are some spectacular looking scenes in them. The bit with the giant statues in FotR. The view of the mountains when Eowyn looks out over the plains to see Aragorn etc riding towards Rohan. The scene when Frodo and Sam finally make it through the Morgul Vale to look out over Mordor.

laughing @ the fail of the part where he hammers their feet, and obviously misses them all, yet everybody falls clutching their feet. This was immediately before a guy stepping on a metal pipe that bends.

Tarantino seems have an unhealthy obsession with using the word n*gger in his screenplays. Still, Walken and Hopper together in this scene are F*CKING AWESOME!! My favorite death scene of all time! This is the mark of a loving father! Still, he died in vain since he forgot to take down the note on his fridge.

I love that movie, mostly because of this scene. thumb up

Also I love that Tarantino (like scorsese) isn't afraid afraid to use the word "n*gger" (and other racist words like "Jig", "Jungle Bunny", "Spooks" etc.) excessively in their wonderfull films.
