Revan wins.

Darth Truculent
Where did Revan come into this?

Nephthys
Revan is Everywhere, and Nowhere

Darth Truculent
I'm a big fan of Revan, but I have to agree with you.

Lord Lucien
You're a big fan "but" you have to agree. Huh.

Red Nemesis
Truculent is an easy target. Shame on you.

Slash_KMC
Maybe the Canadian was genuinly confused. I know I am.

Red Nemesis
You must not be very intelligent then.

mattatom

I meant that Revan is my favorite Sith, but in this post why exactly was he mentioned? And no Nemesis, I'm not an easy target - I just control my temper. Damn the Irish blood in me.

Red Nemesis
Um... I wasn't saying that you would not fight back. I was observing that your mistakes are, forgive me, numerous enough, albeit trivial enough, that picking on you was a waste of time.

erm

erm So you're saying I waste my time? Malicious liar. If I wasn't busy perusing a Star Wars forum, I'd slug you.

truejedi
i love this thread.

Darth Truculent
Everyone makes mistakes Nemesis - even the most knowledgeable person about whatever topic is being discussed. Not saying that I'm on expert on SW, ST or any other Sci-Fi forum. I was just pointing out that Revan has no place on this post. The question was Kun vs NJO Luke.

I lol'd.

*facepalm*

Truculent, what you need to understand is that Lucien was pointing out that your usage of the conjunction 'but' was erroneous in your second post because the first clause was not contradicted by the second. 'But' is used to indicate a "contrast or exception" according to Wikipedia. The phrase "I'm a big fan of Revan" does not contrast "I have to agree with you." The post you were agreeing with declared that "Revan is Everywhere, and Nowhere." This semimystical assertion is paralleled by the Christian mythology's concept of a perfectly ubiquitous god. The link therefore makes the statement exceedingly positive. In light of the positive connotation of the line with which you agreed it is not proper to use 'but,' since you are a fan of Revan agreeing with a positive statement about him.

Lucien decided to be snide and petty and mean and point this out. He writes "You're a big fan "but" you have to agree. Huh." Because the mistaken use of 'but' in your aforementioned post did not impede comprehension of your post I chided him for picking on you. I noted that your mistakes are numerous enough that pointing them out is not sporting. Although they are frequent, the slips are not usually particularly distracting or embarrassing.

So the breakdown goes something like this:
1. Slight mistake in coordinating conjunction
2. Lucien points it out like a jerk
3. I call him on being a jerk to someone about an irrelevant topic to someone particularly vulnerable
4. You misunderstand the backhanded...whatever it was
5. lulz
6. overly formal longwinded explanation
7. ...
8. PROFIT

Lord Lucien
He wouldn't write it in, but #7 involves me harvesting Nemesis for his organs and selling them to India, thus step #8 comes to fruition.

Slash_KMC
Oh Nemesis, don't you have studying to do instead of explaining the obvious in a 'overly formal longwinded explanation'?

Red Nemesis
Be quiet.

I don't know who to picky. You both make such compelling arguments!

This at least doesn't require any compelling arguments.

Slash_KMC
Boy, you need more than that to beat the most powerful Force user ever. Has Exar Kun proven that he can use the Force on a planetary scale like Luke?

Srsly, I don't know crap about Kun.

I don't remember having a logic module. At least not in KMC-mode.

But yeah, Sammy needs to look up something about the character called Lucas Luke Skywalker.

Luke wins, not easy but he should take at least 10/10...

Lord Lucien
If he's garnering a 10/10, I think the word "ease" is applied there somewhere.

\\S//
The youngest Jedi Master ever, the 62.4 year old Jedi as of the Fate of The Jedi series, who was born with a far lower midi-chlorian count than Anakin was and who had his hand and a few million midi-chlorians severed, who doesn't know about many ancient Jedi techniques such as force strip or force contain, who doesn't even know how to build a holocron, powerful as he was, is overrated. Being the direct descendant of Anaken Skywalker he has to be powerful. Leia was born with the same, if not a greater, midi-chlorian count. Wake up! We've never seen Luke older than we've seen Mace Windu, he probably hasn't transfered even 80% of his midi-chlorians into force energy, he's grown by leaps and bound by NJO, but he'll grow a lot more. That being said, Luke was still the most powerful Jedi in history, posessing the greatest quantity of force energy.
