The newest Koei game is based on the Hokuto No Ken (Fist of the North Star) series is Hokuto Muso. It has a gameplay that's similar to the Dynasty Warriors series. Here's the trailer, even though it doesn't show much:

They do have one, it's based off of the Guilty Gear engine.

Tecmo Koei CEO Kenji Matsubara mentioned that they expect Hokuto Musou to sell over 1 million copies in Japan, and the game is planned for the oversea market as well.

Hmmm I wonder if it will come over here.

looks nice.. but honestly, when is this going to die out.. gudam musou, (i'm pretty sure there were other franchise "musou" as well) and lets not forget the 6 or so DW games preceding these -_-..

it just feels like they never try anything new.. like maybe having each one of those mindless NPCs an actual person on the battlefield

Dynasty Warriors is one of my favorite series - 3 and 4 **** my shit up. But they can do so much more with it, it's a shame that Koei doesn't go all out.

the amount of characters (the generals, I guess?) and how different they look and play are really stunning.. I hope they put that to good use in a title that actually shows what koei can do
