Both Anakin and his son Luke are trained jedi's in the use of the force and the use of the jedi weapon known as the lightsaber... Anakin was believed to be the so called "chosen one", a prophecy that said that someone will bring balance to the force by destroying the jedi's ancient enemies the sith, Throughout the Clone Wars Anakin felt a great sense of loss and anger which ultimately lead to his fall towards darkness and became Darth Vader... As Vader, Anakin spread fear throughout the galaxy for a long time and later would eventually meet his son Luke who Vader fought and ultimately gave his life and brought balance back to the force...

There is no doubt in my mind that they are two of the greatest characters ever to be seen on the big screen.
