Regarding this quote from the movie-

"Because he wouldn't have a-a traditional skeletal structure. Something more like a snake's, with thousands of, uh, tiny bones, and..."

My question is this; theoretically could a bipedal humanoid function effectively with a skeletal structure like the one described above?
