Nome Adbuctions ??

After watching the trailer for "The 4th Kind" which claims to be based on true cases. I was wondering if there is any truth in the story, were there people abducted etc.

Searched the web and there isn´t much hard info available, some sites have appeared lately covering the idea but this could be just an ad campaign to awake interest in the movie.

Maybe Sarah Palin is one of these aliens, she certainly talks like one🙂

They're actively avoiding naming any specific studies or people. I would be good money that this is "based on a true story" about as much as Fargo was.

Yes sounds about right, the case (if there was one) probably was very slim and not even hyped at all, whereas the film blows it out of proportion.

That´s the impression I got whilst googling about for information. Nevertheless looks like a good movie to watch.

Apparently no one can find any record of anything close to this ever happening in Alaska. I guess "based on a true story" has about as much integrity as "certified organic" or "dolphin safe" or "made in USA".

Oh, and the movie sucked.

Thanks for the opinion🙂

Well, you know something is fishy when no one's ever heard of something until a company hired by a movie studio puts up a website or two and starts a viral marketing campaign.

Is a bit weird when you think about it, isn´t it illegal to make stuff up and sell it as truth?

Based on court decisions, no. Not even on a news show unless someone sues you.

They used the names of real organizations, I'm surprised they didn't get in trouble.

They may have gotten permission or found a fair use argument, who knows.

Watched the movie last night, pretty scary stuff and well made.

I was a bit let down, yet relived that the entire film was fake.
Still thought it was good though.
