OMG OMG, I CAN'T WAIT. This is going to be awesome! The art just like the Wednesday Superman Comics. YAY!

mmmmmmmmm
DC FTW!

I'll be picking those up.
Seems like DC has been slowly incorporating pre-crisis Superman of late. Superman: Secret Origins and now this. I wonder what they're up to over there... mmm
The Nuul
I think I will like Supes better because of JMS and Davis but I will get them both.
Good stuff

Kris Blaze
Mildly interested.

i'm curious to see where they go with the various characters involved in this continuity... if it's even half as good as the all-star stuff was, i'll be a fan for sure.

First of all - isn't present DC Earth known as Earth 1?
Second - how is this any different than doing All Star Superman & Batman? Why don't they just make these the teams taking over those titles?
Third - why are they willing to change Batman's uniform but not Superman's? (Take off the red drawers - it's not in continuity!)

Wow! As a far of both Johns and JMS, I feel obligated to get both of these. Though I have to echo the sentiments of others: just how many origins do we really need of the World's Finest? I'd much rather see the two of them take over each title once each respective hero "comes back" to the mainstream fold. That being said, I will more than likely get these.

Why ? I would be skeptical about a Geoff Johns Batman book in main continuity considering the way he's portrayed him but a re-imagining should be interesting.
And JMS on Superman, eventough I would have liked it to be on the mainstream one, is exciting considering for how long he's waited to do this and the fact that he's one of my favorite writers. Not to mention that reading that interview, how could I not be ?
It's something new and it starts here with its first foundations. I'm looking forward to it, tbh.

As a mainly Marvel fan, I'm interested in these as a way to jump on the DC bandwagon, I suppose. However, I wonder if they'll make enough changes to actually warrant the books. No sense making a new continuity if it's just like the old one.
Bouboumaster
The problem with DC is that very much of they're stories are often around Sups and Batman.
This idea will bring nothing new. They should create some new and interesting dudes, and have they're one history. Much like Marvel Earth and Marvel Cosmic

I would advise no for newbies in DCU. This is practically more about separating the two from continuity. This is more of an indepedent setting for both icons.
As of now, I would say no-no for anyone thinking this will be a great way to begin with DCU.
I've always advise new readers interested on DC to begin with the Year One.

They're the father figures of the company; what would you expect?

I think my post was misleading; I don't intend to use this as a kind-of "jumping on" point for the main DCU canon. I merely have a somewhat vague interest in these characters, and I'd rather read neater, more self-contained stories like these than struggle through the complications and complexities of mainstream continuity.

WickedDynamite
I know what you're saying. It was me who didn't mean to make you look like a newbie.
My badness...

Marvel do really interesting things without using every time Spider-Man, Hulk and Wolverine.

No interest at all...boring....

So does DC do this because after twenty plus years of multiple Crisis and Zero Hour events, they still trip over their own continuity?
The Nuul
Isnt Marvel doing something close to this....that World War Hulks thingy?
Digi
So. Another Batman and Superman title? Just what we need.
I kinda lawl'd. Hope it's good, but I won't be following.

No; that's in continuity.
The Ultimate universe and the Zombieverse are the two recent examples of Marvel going outside 616 continuity.
