It's a battle between two of my favorite SNES protagonists. Link has the master sword and red shield and Crono is armed with the rainbow and his luminaire magic. Who takes it?

...that's it? Just the MS and the Red shield?

Yeah, I just want a battle of weapon skill, so Link has sword and shield and Crono has sword and one spell. Adding in all of Link's items and all Crono's abilities/accessories makes things too convoluted.

Well there isn't much in ALttP to suggest that Link is a fantastic swordsman, his real ability lies in his items. His broken, broken items.

I don't know about that, he's definitely got some skill with a blade in LttP. The minute he got a sword and shield from his uncle he was able to fend off trained castle soldiers.

True. But then again I don't know anything about Crono.

At least Link can shoosts his lazars.

Chrono is pretty beast. The red shield cant block luminaire effectively, and if Chrono has all of his learned abilities, it looks like he might take this one (assuming its Naked Link here).

All Link really has here is the Hurricane Spin (from the GBA version, if that counts).
