So, a friend and I have been in a bit of an argument asto what constitutes art. I say that literature can be a form of art, and he says not. He says that it isn't, so, I wanted to see what others thought.

I couldn't decide if this belonged in the art forum or books, so I just picked one, if it belongs else where, my apologies.

Lets look at it this way. Anything can be considered art. It really comes down to the individual person and what he or she considers art. For example. I look at these two pictures.

In my personal opinion, this is not art. Just simply wasted paint.

This, in my opinion is art.

books, movies, video games, poems, plays, even structures can be viewed as an art form.
