If you're asking God about hell, this means that Hell is real (since you are speaking with Yahwe). Thus, it would be unthinkable not to convert (which carries a utility of infinity). So, the question I would ask (were I speaking with Yahwe) is: "What series of actions that are within my power should I take in order to maximize the utility of my and others' lives? This would get me into heaven, and the maximum number of people there too (making more people happier). Thus: utilitarianism!

I don't see why an atheist couldn't have a chat with god, you just wouldn't be one afterward.

wtf is this nonsense about a box?

"Why?"

If I could ask two questions, the first would've been, "How do I know you're really 'God'?"

Is God the box or is God in the box? Neither, God is what you want to find within the box.

At least the Ozone Layer has been proven. You didn't do the scientific research yourself, did you? Did you like go to a lab, perform tests on the atmosphere, and discover that there is an ozone layer? Nope. You accept that there is an ozone layer because scientists say there is an ozone layer. They cannot see it, you cannot see it, nor touch it, yet you accept and believe it is there on faith.

See how that works?

I guess you're one of those people who want God to appear across the table from you and hold your hand throughout life.

I love how Atheists are all "You cannot prove God exists!!!" and when I return the sentiment, when I say "You cannot DISPROVE his existence," they blow it off, as if their way is by default, correct. And we Christians are called narrow minded roll eyes (sarcastic)

Lemme ask you this....You believe in Ghosts? Demons? Intelligent life on other planets? UFO's?

Well, the thing is, the burden of proof does rest with he who makes the claim that something exists. "No evidence = no existence" is a more reasonable assumption than "no evidence = possible existence."

Pursuing truth, IMO, means recognizing limitations to one's philosophy. Yes, the atheist should acknowledge that "no evidence = no existence" is still an assumption, but the theist needs to recognize that--based on a foundation of reliable, demonstrable proof--neither can a transcendent philosophy stand as equal to an empirical one.

All I'm saying is that if a person is an atheist and expects a Christian to listen to their reasons why they are atheist, they should return the favor and listen to the Christians reason why they believe.

To say with absolute conviction "There is no God, Christ does not exist", without being able to prove it, is unfair. Myself, I believe in Christ, durh, but I don't go around saying to others "God absolutely exists", because I cannot prove it with scientific facts. I take it on faith.

Agreed. Mutual respect can often go a long way in bringing people together even if their beliefs are miles apart.

No, but I've met quite a few atheists who are far more ignorant than a lot of religious folks I've met. Many are just plain dumb, and I've stumped them with the simple: "You say God has no evidence of existence, so where's your evidence he doesn't?"

None can give me an answer. They either shut up, throw a tantrum, or fail at arguing back. I prefer agnostics, they keep their options open.

There are an infinite number of things that you can't prove don't exist. So that's a perfectly valid response, unless of course you wouldn't object to any claim that any person makes (which I somehow doubt).

That's what we call proving a negative. It's something they are under no logical obligation to do.

You could use that same approach to say it's ignorant to believe unicorns don't exist.

I'd most likely ask God what the meaning of life is to begin with. Think about it. How often do you stop to ask yourself what exactly life is all about, and how everything comes together almost systematically and works in harmonious fashion? I have difficulty believing that all this is by chance.

If you just stop and think about how being alive is a power in itself, and if life is a possibility, why can't other things be possible such as a life after death?

I also probably ask God whether or not Aliens exist, and where they live. I can't imagine with the trillions of stars and infinite amount of space, that planet Earth is the only place containing intelligent life.

Id ask him if the Bible really was 'His Word', and what he thinks about 'religion'.

Bet your soul if he exists, he's fcuking furious about that shit. His word was prolly along the lines of 'there you go, have fun, build , create, live long and love my children, see you when it's over, life..my gift to you'.

Then some jewbag/anglo/babylonian/middleastern scumdrop slip an amendment inbetween the pages and next time the book is copied it reads 'take your unruley child to the edge of town and stone him' erm

I'd also ask him for a redo of my life, with all the knowledge of the one i just finished so i could skate through rich n happy and spreading love to my peeps fo'shure!

Wild Shadow
betting is a sin if he did help inspire the bible with some some subtle ques with the Author. just something to think about but, i would wager your left nut that he had nothing to do with the writing translation nor how the word was carried out
