The high school seen in Mimic 2 gets infested with not just the Judas Breed (humanoid roaches), but Xenomorphs as well. There are over 10 Roaches and 10 Xenomorphs.
So this isn't spite, the mutant roaches are acid proof. They can only get harmed by the Xenomorphs physical attacks (the claws, tounge, and tail).
