Uma Thurman as Medusa from Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief.
Greek mythology's resident Gorgon with the killer stare is making a comeback.
So...RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!
Since there are three versions of Medusa, I decided to give respect to all three.
For those who don't know Medusa's backstory, here it is.
Medusa was a temple maiden in Athena's Temple. She was also at the time the hottest-looking woman in Greece, and dedicated her life to serving the Goddess of Wisdom and War.
But Poseidon, the God of the Sea, is not the type to take no for an answer. So he rapes Medusa in Athena's Temple. Rather than go after her uncle, the pissed-off Athena curses Medusa instead, changing her into a Gorgon with snake for hair and a killer glare that literally petrifies men and beast alike.
In Clash of the Titans it's Perseus who pwns Medusa. In Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief it's Poseidon's baby boy who does the pwning.
I think she's still sore about the sexual assault from thousands of years earlier and tries to off Mr. Jackson. Where the hell is Benson and Stabler when you need them? Bah.
Either way, we pay homage to one of Greek Mythology's most memorable monsters.
