Considering at that point, he embodied it.

Ultimecia was able to absorb all of time and space, you know, Dialga and Palkia's domains, she is both of them in one.

The Void thing can be held back by a bunch of dead d00dz. Palkia and Dialga alone can each destroy the universe (Neo ExDeath's best feat, amirite?). Fighting Exdeath is at worst a logical stalemate.
