thats plenty of time for them to write a good story and keep the cast intact

First GI Joe movie was god awful. How those people managed to get the opportunity to make a sequel is beyond me and if this thing does come out in 2012, then I guess we found out what will end us all.

Glad no one at Paramount listens to you when it comes to movies or else Paramount would have been out at least $127 million dollars (cost of the film minus the money it made in the theaters.) Then there is the merchandising, DVD release, contracts, etc. It made well more than its cost, by far.


If you're wondering why they made it...it's cause it meade them, subtracting costs, hundreds of millions of dollars. Profit margins approaching 100% or more of the cost of the project? I mean...damn....d-d-d-d-DAMN!

I highly doubt Storm Shadow is dead, he and Snake-Eyes have too strong a rivalry, and they had to make a sequel, they couldn't properly show Destro without his mask, and of course Cobra Commander.

Another movie for me to skip.

I still don't understand why people feel this movie as bad. It was exactly what i expected out of a movie based on cartoons and toys. Terrorists trying to take over the world. At no point was i bored or thinking it was stupid. I guess everyone has different opinions. Some people loved TF2 i thought it was one of the worst movies i have ever seen. but when GI JOE came out most everyone was comparing it to TF2 and was saying it was worse than TF2.

A movie doesn't have to be as bad as Transformers 2 to be bad. Haven't seen G.I. Joe, but I just know I wouldn't like it.

You don't have to have an IQ below 30 to enjoy GI JOE.
For me the movie was a blast from start to finish it was highly entertaining, with a descent story and good humor. At no point during the movie was i bored looking at my watch, or saying to myself this is friggin stupid. Now with TF2 i did end up looking at my watch and was saying to my niece who is 12 this is stupid and she was saying the same thing to me. The way GI JOE was put together and presented was great and i can't wait for GI JOE 2.

I guess to each his own, everyone loved the Hangover and the watchmen, and i thought both were absolute crap.

This is the best news i've heard since they announced, the war in Iraq was over. We all see how that one turned out...,So, why make up another lie and yet another bullshit movie that no one wants to see? loved the first one. the movie was mad fun and sexy and i'll be there for the sequel, for sure .

I SAW GI Joe,the special effects are incredible, as is the photography, the score, and even the somewhat campy acting seems appropriate.
I am looking forward to Gi Joe 2!!!

I wanted a more hardcore movie, kinda like "Resolute". I knew that wasn't gonna happen so i enjoyed it for what it was; not awesome but definitely not horrible.

As for the second movie, less mech-suits and more classic individual skill showings.

The mech-suits were one of the only three things that film had going for it. Exo-suits, Snake-Eyes, Baroness. Rest was shit.

The first TF was great, so they would make a 2nd one. the only thing is they rushed it. This is complete crap frigin one month away from release and they push it back 9 months. Just for 3D? I think they are afraid of competition from spiderman and dark knight rises. The reason they got this fourth of July slot was only because the second Star Trek film couldn't start on time, not because they thought so highly of the project. It shows again how little faith they have in shifting this to next March, this close to it's opening weekend.

When u have the rock and Bruce Willis I don't think people would miss Channing.

That Harry Potter film went from one prime release date to another. The second last one in 2010, when they decided to convert it to 3D and couldn't make the deadline, they didn't drastically push the date back as a result. They said forget it and released it sans 3D. So only the very last Harry Potter film would get the 3D treatment, with lots of time to prepare in advance.

G.I. Joe's chances for a sequel were always iffy after the first one got lousy reviews and just passable box office. It got made for a reduced budget and they changed directors, and they only got the 4th of July slot because Star Trek II didn't start production on time. This last minute delay to next year (not next fall or next winter, as some films look at Oscar chances with a shift that way) to a less favourable date at the end of March - just to complete a 3D conversion - it speaks of the desperation to squeeze all they can out of a suspect property, in my view.

Maybe I'm just out of the loop but I thought chicks were the only one giving him any credence. His acting is garbage. In fact, it was only the addition of The Rock and Willis that made me want to see this one. They effed up the first one so badly I could taste blood.

i honestly think it's more about the character Duke than it is about Channing himself. pretty sure no one (not even chicks) takes him seriously as an actor.

He was also in 21 Jump Street, which is the funniest movie to have come out this year.

Between that and Magic Mike, he's now one of those actors that I won't go out of my way to avoid. He's hardly a great actor, but he's not a bad one either, and he's not afraid to make fun of himself, which gives him some points in my book.

I actually like him.

He's no Renner though.

I for one Love Ray Park, he is IMO one of the best film martial artists in the business today, any film his is in I see it no matter what. He should get more credit for his roles

Ray Park was attached to the Iron Fist movie that is stuck in developmental hell.. haven't read anything regarding that in a long time though
