The ones I do are Muay Thai (Muay Thai is Anderson Silva's striking style, if you want to see him fight look up "Anderson Silva vs Forrest Griffin", or "Anderson Silva vs Rich Franklin 2", Kyokushin Karate, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and Greco Roman Wrestling.

Since I use different styles while I fight, that makes me a Mixed Martial Artist.

But if you want to concentrate on just one martial art, you should probably go with Muay Thai. It's considered by many the most dangerous martial art.

I did jiu-jitsu (traditional, none of that Brazilian crap) and judo for years. I can recommend you that. Also if you want to see muay thai I'd recommend you looking up Buakaw Por. Pramuk or some other Thai fighter, not Anderson Silva.

i did some jiu-jitsu for a while.

learned what i wanted and stopped because my mom couldnt afford it.

Anderson Silva is badass

And he does use Muay Thai when he strikes. In his first fight with Rich Franklin, he holds Rich in the Muay Thai Clinch, and busts his nose up so bad with knees that he has to get plastic surgery on it. I think he's a good representation of how Muay Thai fighters fight.

I saw some muay thai on human weapon. It looked pretty effective.

You thought wrong. After all, you have to get your opponent to the ground and grapple yourself into a favourable position before you can submit him, innit?

Judo isn't just throws either, it's ground grappling as well, to get your opponent on his back. The kimura is also a judo technique named after the famous judoka Masahiko Kimura.

Of course he's a muay thai fighter, but MMA striking is awfully chaotic and even though he probably is the best striker in MMA he would get his ass handed to him by a rather large number of fighters who just train muay thai or who fight in the K-1.

I'm starting to think you don't actually practice MMA, or have just started a couple of months ago after playing UFC Undisputed 2009...

He did not learn Nanquan (Southern fist), because his training focused only in the Northern Shaolin Styles. He has also studied some of wushu's main weapons, such as San jie gun (Three sectional staff), Gun (Staff), Dao (Broadsword), Jian (Straight sword) and many more.

Well you are starting to think wrong.

I haven't been doing Brazillian Jiu Jitsu or wrestling for very long, but I've been doing Kyokushin Karate, and Muay Thai for years. So you're kind of right, I haven't really focused on the ground stuff until recently. It's mainly been striking for me.

God, just because I'm not a total Einstein on every form of martial arts doesn't mean that I don't train.

And you can't say that he would get beaten by any Muay Thai fighter. Keep in mind that he has been doing Muay Thai LONG before MMA, and used to compete (and win) in Muay Thai tournaments.

He's not going to rely ONLY on his Muay Thai for an MMA fight, that wouldn't work. His Muay Thai is as good as any Muay fighter.
