so you go camping with your family and while wandering away from your camping area you fall into an underground cave. you land on top of a metallic object and slide off it into the ground.. your physical touch has activated it and it hums with power once again, you stand up and assess the situation when it suddenly shines a light to scan you.

a glitch in its system after being dormant transfers key information into your mind forcing the ship to interact with you as a medium to maintain function..

the ship hatch opens up like liquid metal and you are urged in by an unknown force.. you enter and are amazed you look at the cockpit some how the ship response to your subconscious ques as the seat raises and reclines, the view screen activates and the ship verbally greets you with a friendly hello ..


it has scanned your mind and sees you as not a direct threat to it or what it represents. it invites you to sit and calls you captain.. you do as it say and it locks you into the seat and the view screen shows you a flight plan of the solar system and a beacon on one of the celestial bodies... you can feel slight movement and sense the ship is moving but you feel no real inertia.. the view screen simply shows an arrow moving toward the beacon and the screen vanishes to show a shot of space approaching a planet possibly the moon and the startship voyager activating at your approach as the cargo bay doors open.

shocked at the experience the ship ask you to disembark into the cargo area, walking out you see the cargo area and ask the ship how many ppl are in the ship? the Ship responds with: just you captain and one fully functional self aware holo program at the medical bay referred as the doctor.

pls head toward the ships observation deck and then medical bay, pls.. you ask why and how are you suppose to find them?

the shuttle ship shyly explains that it has accidentally integrated with you via a glitch in its system and you and the ship's parts are now one and the same and viewed as part of the ship also your genetic code is required to activate or run ship programs .. for all intends and purposes this is your ship.

holo deck projectors set through out the ship activate and holo ppl (skeleton crew)materialize and start to call you captain and point you toward the medical deck, observation area and even the bridge.. they are kind and courteous.

what do you do?

also this ship has full system upgrades from the borg and modifications from the final season plus holo emitters throughout the ship...

system power at 40% and climbing..

Obviously I struck my head as I fell into the cave and the ship is an hallucination brought on by brain damage and blood loss. Knowing this I use it to fly to to nearest hospital.

Does the ship respond with, "Compliance"?

Given my responsibilities here on Earth, I would not leave to explore the cosmos.

it has certain key sub routines that you may not be able to immediately circumvent but for all intent and purpose it is your ship and you can tell it what you want and if it can it will comply if not it will tell you why it is unable to follow said command directly or using one of the holo projection ppl which will be its hands and eyes and respond with whatever personality it was program with

perhaps if this ship responds to "make it so" "lets see whats out there"

i would get back into the small ship(shuttle or interplanetary space ship and head back to my original destination and bring my family aboard and have them move in and give them a deck to live on.

i would also transport all our stuff from my home onto voyager and sell everything not like i would need it.

after that i would head back to voyager and have the doctor give me and my family full medical scan and preventive exams probably increase our life span and upgrade us via genetic tampering.

i would have the ship systems teach us as much as we can learn...

after that i would start planning on how to improve the world with my new tech.

probably start by bringing the ship into earth orbit and introducing myself and grievances with the world governments its ppl and society.

give the ppl the choice to improve themselves voluntarily or by my personal actions using broadcast signals and tech like satellites, tv and radios..

after that sit and watch for about a yr seeing if ppl are actively trying to change their ways and government.

by then i would have my close friends and family having freedom to come and go as they choice from the ship and transporter tech.

personal force fields using portable holo emitters.. i would alter mine to create complex exo skeletons that take on mythological creatures to scare and confuse the ppl for sh$# and giggles.

dude i would be bad@$$ also use my new tech to get even with certain ppl that have done me wrong in life... have them live in fear never knowing when i would come for them.

also i be all decked out in some retro old school leather wardrobe armor

If children are involved, and you have to take drastic action against human civilization, how will they eventually bond with the rest of humanity (eg, make friends, seek mates)? Or are you planning on a closed society?

What would you expect to see in a year? What criteria are you going to set, and why? Will you act entirely on your own judgment -- as if now you are as wise as you are powerful -- or will you seek counsel from world experts, so you can perhaps consider things you never knew there were to consider?

What will you do with your new tech to help before you start issuing dire warnings?

And what will happen exactly if you deem sufficient progress is not being made? Won't your actions likely make things worse, eg, everyone gets angry and resentful, perhaps rebellious? Are you prepared mentally and emotionally to conquer and rule the world if need be? And what if not everyone you brought aboard agrees with how you're handling this whole situation?

its not like they would be shown running around on camera they would be in the background behind the curtain doing their own thing, no one but them would know who lives or hangs out on the ship.

also i would eventually start working on my eugenics program soooo yes, i would eventually make a closed off society. although the world at large wouldn't know that is my intend they would just assume i am making an advance society that would allow select ppl to enter and live through a random lottery but based on certain factors like age, intelligence and physical abilities... it would be a 3 to 1 ratio with men being the minority in my New City i call Land Castle.

my ship itself will eventually be closed off once a city is build and my experiment is underway..

universal health care fair and equal wages.. corrupt politicians/government workers being held accountable removed from office and charged for violation of international and domestic laws charged by their own laws and standards no more immunity and presidential pardons.. no hypocrisy will be allowed to go unchecked by ignorance or lack of apathy.... democracy being more then a title but an actual way of life. ppl having an ID. will be the sole requirement to vote for how your government runs things. no more international interference political or corporate will be allowed to undermine foreign or domestic governments. sovereignty will be respected again, countries and government will be held accountable for violations of international laws using their own laws and charters so CIA and various Black ops branches who interfere meddle and start uprisings will find themselves in a court of law and saying it was done for the country or following orders will no longer be an excuse for their actions and knowingly violating laws. removal of frivolous government offices who dont do nothing but hide their work output to keep themselves employed. get rid of corporate lobbyist.

i really want to reduce the world population by nearly 80%.. taking out an entire continent like Asia and i am personally annoyed with africa but i try not to let it effect my choices since i know a lot of its problems ismt directly its fault...

i would want to release a virus that would neuter ppl keep them from reproducing specifically the asian continent. and then supply an immunity to the rest of the ppl that i want reproducing.

That aside...

When I first read your OP, I was struck by the similarity in our thinking. When I was into Trek and had designed a ship of my own (completely original, for writing short stories that had nothing to do with Trek), I fantasized ("off the record," of course) about similar ultimatums and consequences (though I have to admit, I do like your idea of the holo-crew). Then when I got back into comics, I developed a super-powered character (again, for story-writing purposes), and, consequently, a fresh way to vent my worldly frustrations during my downtime. In fact, one story I had some success with a while back (sort of an origin story), and because I was trying to approach it as realistically as possible, that's when I began to consider all those annoying little peripheral consequences I questioned you about.

Apparently, for all the power one may wield, conquering Earth's not such a cut-and-dry task.

But again, generally speaking, our approaches would not be all that different. I suppose I might try for a perhaps kinder, gentler approach, if only because I greatly admire the restraint often exhibited by the likes of Superman or the Silver Surfer. To quote Thucyclides, "Of all manifestations of power, restraint impresses men the most."

It's not as much fun, true, but then, it does keep one on the moral high ground.

honestly it was fun answering your questions and thinking about consequences but realistically taking my personality own warped morality, i wouldnt care what the consequences would be. i would force feed improvement down ppl's throat and my ship would be a giant roman bath house and orgy party thx to the holo emitters full of the most beautiful women from around the world and best genetic stock..

from their i play god from orbit and seeing the world from a view screen... punishing powerful political ppl for their obvious violation of their own laws yet nothing being done about it.. i would order to ppl to do things no ands and buts about it.. dont do it a laser beam in the middle of your city and town should take care of that..

yeah... the holo emitters permit me to basically have a giant holo deck.. but i would have real women not holograms.

i would beam them aboard and offer them a chance to be my sex slave. if they say no.. i take some blood samples and grown my own with certain traits and improvements like a submissive program with some sexual training while they are being grown

probably when ppl have enough of me and my reign and decide to try to nuke me and themselves rather then live under my good grace. also keep in mind the ones deciding this and activating the bombs is less then .01% of the population deciding for everyone else.

by then i would have amassed and stored various and particularly pleasing DNA of certain types of humans that i preference.

plus also the animals on the planet.. i get them from orbit/medical scans and whatnot..
