Does Caiera have anything like a Mother Box or something to cancel it out?

I'd go with Barda for the slight majority. More battle experience + she gains an edge with tech.

Barda without her equipment gets 6/10

With he gear 8/10

Well, she's a herald-level New God. In melee skills, she's almost Wonder Woman's level. Her Mega Rod, both melee weapon and energy blaster, has been used to knock out Superman in two hits back in the Bryne run (he was caught offguard, and that was a fairly low-powered run, but still), she's tussled with other high-power foes on many occasions, and so on.

Mostly she's a badass high end melee fighter with the Megarod, a Motherbox, and Aero-disks (tech that allows flight), and the next most powerful New God after Orion.

The Mega Rod allows her to attack powerfully at long range. with her aero disks, she has the advantage in mobility. Plus if she is wearing her usual gear that includes her Apokalyptan armor, her durability is upped. With skills for days and strength to match, I'm still sticking with her.

Give Wonder Woman a really close fight, and fight evenly with Knockout who kicked Superboys arse, and messed up Mon El (Mon El was dying of lead poisoning at the time, but he still had his powers.)

And if you believe the company memo about the Crisis not affecting the New Gods, then her husband, Mr. Miracle, actually made Pre Crisis Superman struggle in a physical fight, and Barda was easily on MM's level when the two fought with Barda mind controlled...

The Mega Rod is also pretty versatile. She can fire straight line rays, or as omni directional blasts that can't be dodged, and it lets her teleport and has many other effects..

Which makes no sense given that Scott was never supposed to be a physical powerhouse in any way.

Agreed, but Caiera's main claim to fame is her fight with Hulk, right?

A LOT of characters can perform similar against Hulk, but not really be on his level or perform as well against other characters.. Taking damage and not being knocked out by it is as much as part of Hulks mo as getting madder to get stronger.

None of the fights happened under Kirby, true.

However, even under Kirby, there's examples of super human abilities.. One scene has Scott chained down with a mob of people just about to kill him, and the next scene their weapon strikes, but Scott vanishes.. Practically teleports.

Scott explains he simply got out of the chains fast.

And he is the son of Highfather. Makes sense he'd have powers along with everyone else..

Scott does have some speed in him, demonstrated multiple times (like late in Orion's run). Post-Crisis, strength? Not so much. That's Barda's turf.

Well yeah, he's the greatest escape artist in the DCU. But he's not a fighter, at least not to the point that it could be considered a defining trait.
