Because DD's a beast. Hunter/Prey Doomsday fought Superman, Orion, and Martian Manhunter at once and won (in the Doomsday War story), as well as beating Darksied in H/P itself.

H/P Doomsday tanked the OE and tore apart Imperiex Probes like they were made of tissue paper.

He also demonstrated on the fly adaptation when he fought Superman. The guy was probably the most powerful DC brick Post Crisis.

The only thing that managed to kill him for good was a blast from a Galactus level being.

the adapting on the fly was nothing but bone growth and it can be argued it came about from the last supe fight.

No it was specifically shown as a reaction to what Superman was doing at that very moment: flying and using that as an advantage.

Even if it were simply a matter of being able to grow his bone spurs longer do you actually think that Marrow could skewer someone as durable as Superman?

You made it sound as if the ability wasn't any greater than Marrow's when it clearly is.

If he can skewer Superman he can skewer the Brainiacs.
