Ip Man's movie version and Jason Bourne from the Bourne Trilogy

Setting 1: On a wide open terrain. No weapons, just a strict H2H fight.

Setting 2: Takes place in a large office. Neither of them start out with weapons, but they can use anything in the room as weapons.

Who wins?

Ip Man easily, entirely different league. Bourne MAY have a very small chance in 2, that's about it.

Pretty much.

I happen to have been watching Ip Man 2 just then, and few clips here and there from Ip Man 1. I must say, I really don't think Bourne has a chance in 2 either.

Ip rapes his ass.

As adaptive and quick thinking as Bourne is in fights, Ip Man would give a severe beatdown.

That makes no sense.

How does it not make sense? Ip Man is just on another level.

I think he misread it as "Ip Man would get..." instead of "Ip Man would give..."

I did misread it.

Yeah....when you've got a guy who can use a duster against a sword.....and win, that's a weapons specialist if I ever saw one, lol.

lol yeah, that scene especially was the one that me retract my earlier statement of Bourne having a chance in 2.

1. Ip Man.

2. Bourne.......barely.

Lets see: Bourne is trained in Phillipino Kali, Krav Maga, Apache Knife Fighting and U.S. Army Ranger h2h. A 30 million dollar weapon trained to kill other human beings?

BTW: Krav Maga is the Israeli martial art. Translated it means "survive" - I've seen demonstrations it is designed simply to kill at close quarters in a matter of seconds. Questions?

Most people in this day and age know what Krav Maga is....and every other martial art you listed, no need to explain them to us.

And yes, Bourne is a badass, but if you'd look at Ip Man and Ip Man 2, you'd see that he's simply outclassed.

On this board, screen feats determine the outcome of a fight.

Bourne can take two, three, and maybe up to four trained police cops/regular CIA agents at once. Ip Man has taken on up to 10 or more trained martial artists at once.

Bourne can use pens and rolled up magazines as weapons against people with knives. Ip Man used a friggin' duster to pwn a martial artist armed with a full fledged sword, where said martial artist was more than a match for any other fighter in the city. Not to mention the scene where he used a flat wooden stand to pwn 10+ blade wielding opponents.

Bourne is a ruthlessly trained assassin in several fighting methods, I'm aware of that, but he is very badly outclassed here.

finished watching Ip Man..

the Grandmaster beats the living shiite out of Bourne

Hell yes he does.

Oh, and let's not forget, while Bourne was taking hits left and right.

Ip only got hit maybe 3-6 times the whole movie.

Hmm, VERY good point.

What is with all the IP man threads now? Did everyone just literally see this god damn movie?

in the first Ip Man film , he was just shot once in the shoulder

Not two in the chest which is potential lethal. Center-of-mass shot.

Ip Man wasn't trying to kill his opponents, even though it's obvious he easily could've killed every person he fought.

He was only shot once, but that doesn't really matter. Bourne being shot doesn't matter either.

No one was superior to Ip Man, that's the point.

And look, it's obvious you've got a hard on for Bourne, but the fact is he loses, accept it.

Bourne has incredible damage soak, I'll give you that. But that alone isn't enough to win a fight against an opponent superior to him in just about every other way.

No one avoids getting hit, no matter how good the are. Bourne will connect with Ip Man, and Ip Man's damage soak will be tested.

Ip Man got hit already by the Japanese General...it just pissed him off.

Yeah, but how many times?

Only a few...then Ip got serious and dominated him.

I remember. Seems Ip was holding back because he knew the General would kill him if he lost.

Bourne struggles with taking on 3-4 Blackbriar Agents, granted, he handles them but with difficulty. Ip Man took on easily over 30 martial artists coming at him at the same time. He handled them with ease.

Ip Man is sim ply on a higher tier. Bourne is hella nice. But Ip Man is just plain rediculous.
