Wow, I think I can safely say I liked this episode. Aside from the whole "Why is the Trade Federation still in the Senate?" issue, which makes no sense to me at all, it seemed pretty solid.

I still don't get that either. But I think the senator explained it by stating that Gunray is just a lone wolf and isn't acting on behalf of the entire Trade Federation.

I must say that I was confused at first. I thought this episode was to be situated after the Ryloth trilogy but then Toydaria showed up and didn't seem to have any Republic base there. I would really like for them to explain the timeline once and a while.

I loved Ima-Gun Di, but sadly they had to kill off the new character once more. I saw Filoni talking about him somewhere:

And last but not least: yay, the Tantive IV ! big grin

I got that, my question is why the Separatists are using Trade Federation ships and Trade Federation battle droids? Episode I made it clear that these things were property of the Trade Federation.

Thats the major flaw with this show. Its non-linear. Its one thing to be "episodic" and have no relation from one episode to the next, but I'm sick of spending the first 10 minutes figuring out WHEN this is happening. This is the second time this season we've had a prequel episode.

Master Di....finally they realize they can create a good Jedi character and kill him off. Once more? this is only the third time its happened. Nahdar, Bolla Ropal, and now Di. I really liked him, great design, excellent voice, just solid all around. And thank god he died. Now I want to see them build a character over several episodes and then kill them.

I was more excited to see Organa.

Hmm....other things. This was the first time in a while I felt this was a "war" not a skirmish. Great battle choreography. I lived that this tried to go behind the scenes and show some of the politics behind the war and expand on the separatists, even though it failed to adequately do so. Lott Dodd is actually proving to be an interesting villain and its nice to have a non-combat villain in the show.

The only scene that I had problem with is the Dinner scene. First off I dont imagine Toydayrians eating Fischer-Price turkey legs and Jar-Jar went from being too much of a useful idiot to being just useful. He now stacks plates? Whats next, cup stacking?

Anyway, Season 3 has been way more solid than Season 2, but now that the first 3 episodes are down, its time for me to get nervous again. Especially next week with our Ahsoka/Chuchi softcore kiddie porn.

Wow! I just saw this and have to say it was a great episode. The battles were epic and Master Di's last stand was rather tragic.
Heck I even liked Jar Jar in this episode...

As for Nute Gunray being a lone wolf... the Senator is clearly lying, the trade federation is definently part of the Seperatists. They just claim they are still part of the Republic so they can slow it down.

Yeah, season 3 is off to a great start.

It was allright. The one thing I thought careless by the makes is that they again show the good guys lack a certain healthy sense of judgement. Not telling the Toydarians there was a whole battel going on between the Seps and the Reps... I mean, come on... that's stupid. And also, it totally makes the Toydarian king rather unbelievable to change his mind in favour of these dopes that tell him half truths...
