afaik, it is open

though, from a strategic point of view, you want to post next, and from a gentlemanly point of view, Blair probably should let you

Blair Wind
It is open, and I am waiting for C to respond first.

Part 1: The Defensive

As soon as the red matter creates the black hole apocalypse teleports to your teams side of the field (he can sense cloaked objects)

nice twist

Black bolt z
Then what?

Although that was a nice twist.

Let's keep the commentary out of the match. This is intended solely for the competitors and judges. And while extraneous comments can occasionally be acceptable, we should try to avoid them. There will be time for questions, critique, and compliments after the match or in other tourney threads.

King Kandy
I was coming in to say the same thing. No giving advice, no matter how badly a person may need it.

You are going to teleport to my side of the field? That just brings you closer to the effects of the two black holes as I'm in the direct center of them. I, unlike you, am not affected by the pull of gravity. If ships that have warp drive capabilities cannot escape them, what makes you think you can?

Secondly, while you may be able to blindly teleport to some place, don't pretend that a scan that shows Apocalypse can sense invisibility is the same as him detecting the most superior cloaking technology in the Star Trek universe. Its not just mere invisibility, it cloaks all kinds of sensors, including those from Klingon ships:

This is the Narada vs General Worf's armada of klingons. He cloaks, undetected from the Klingons scanners, and then destroys them save Worf's ship.

You want to use the few precious moments you have, as two giant black holes are ripping you apart with the high forces of gravity pulling you in each opposing direction, trying to hack my ship? confused

First you'd need to find me.
Second you'd need time to try and maybe start hacking my armor.
Third you'd need to successfully hack my self growing/adapting armor.
Fourth you'd need to do all these things before my black holes rip you apart.

Can you do that? I don't think so.

Apocolypse gains control over a sentient ship (pretty similiar to your stipulation)

One of Apocalypse's robots is teleported into Fantastic Four headquarters undetected, hacks into the FF computer, steals info and leaves, all quite easily and without being detected.

Gaining control over a sentient ship vs gaining control over an extremely adaptable ship controlled by Jeffries, who is the highest technopath in Marvel are two completely different things. So good luck trying to shut him down.

As lovely as that is, that is a precise location built on a foundation that doesnt move. I am a mobile cloaked target sitting in the middle of the most chaotic natural force known to man and alien alike.

Additionally, are those scans even canon?? confused

I don't really have much else to go on here, so I guess this is my last post since today is the deadline for rounds.

Stay Windy rock

AoA scans? confused

TheTyrant
It's from the Onslaught saga, not Age of Apocalypse. 100% canon.

Blair Wind
Just making sure. I had some one tell me they thought it was AoA scans. Either way, him posting one or two scans is not exactly going to sway the tide of this battle.

Digi
Judge's Vote: Blair Wind

Big C, just use this as a learning experience. Basically, Omega and Wolverine became useless. Notice how little you used them? There's always something to be said for drafting who you know, but you also have to draft at or near the level that the tourney allows. Those two are so far out of their league here.

Other than that, you just need to elaborate on your plans. Nothing was fleshed-out as much as it should've been, offense or defense. And there were good ideas/scans, just not enough of them. Watch the tourney as it progresses and you'll get a better sense of what is expected in these things.

Blair doesn't need my commentary yet, he'll get it during later matches when he's more tested. Nice plan though.

Omega Vision
Omega Vision's ruling:

Draft picks: This one is easy. Of Colossus's team the only one suited to this level of competition was Apocalypse, and he couldn't hope to pick up the slack for his team mates. Also Colossus gets more points taken away for missing the opportunity to make Horsemen out of Wolverine and OR stick out tongue

Blair had a solid team with great synergy that really made his plan come together.

Prep: Colossus had no prep. Blair's prep was cohesive and elegant.

Debating: Unfortunately there wasn't much debating going on, but in what little there was Blair had the upper hand. Still, this is one of the closer categories because of the aforementioned lack of in depth debating by both parties.

Supporting Evidence: This was the closest of the categories, Colossus actually did alright here. His major problem was that while he did an adequate job of providing evidence that Apocalypse could teleport, detect cloaked objects, and perform technopathy he failed to provide evidence that Apocalypse could do all these things at the same time while battling another technopath and escaping a black hole. That goes back to debating though.

Winner: Blair Wind.

Better luck next time Colossus.

Black bolt z
OK I wanted to type up my own response as to who I thought the winner would be.

But Digi said exactly what I was going to say.

@ Colossus: The only thing I'd like to add is that there was so much more you could have done with prep as you could have. And once Blair had his strategy up you went on the offensive instead of a counter attack like mabye using Apoc's TP and his ability to find the cloaked ship to(if possible as I haven't really done any reasearch) launch his own black holes back at him. Then if there be any remains teleport wolverine into the battered and bruised team.

Just try to do more with prep and always try to find a counter.

lol, all the wisdom I've spouted and that line has by far the best chance of becoming a tourney mantra.

SMH Dude I seriously took that quote to heart and for the next few posts against PG I acted more confident.

You erectial jokes helped.

Digi
It was in jest, but the actual advice is sound. There isn't room for weakness in tourneys, and you might as well let your opponent let you know where you fall short, never help him out.
