I know, I know, this has been done to death. But I think we have some new evidence to consider, which makes this a good time to re-post this.
The New Krypton series has fundamentally changed this debate.
100,000 Kryptonians, with superpowers, were KILLED by the forces of earth, by changing the yellow sun into a red sun.
Now, I know there are many Superman fanboys who think that Superman is unaffected by Red Sunlight, and who argue that Superman is an infinite yellow sunlight battery (which is why they claim that the Silver Surfer could never drain Superman fast enough before he replenishes), but I think the New Krypton arch has changed the debate once and for all.
As soon as the sun turns red, Superman and Supergirl begin suffocating in space.
Also, I would like to discuss what some people have said about the Silver Surfer's cosmic awareness. Specifically this scan:

Some people claim that the SS ALREADY KNEW Gladiator's weakness, while some people claim that SS used his cosmic awareness power. Can anyone shed any light on this?
