Ironically, many of the songs use the blues scale (From the blues/jazz - The musics "of the devil"....
That scale includes the 'flattened fifth' which was banned by churches for illiciting feelings of questioning and dissonance/confusion.

All those blues guys, jazz guys, The guys playing the JCSS score, Hendrix and Sabbath played the devils music... and it rocked hard.(Check out the 1st rude sounding chords on Purple haze, and 70% of metal riffs to hear the interval in action....)

Its all the way through the overture at the beginning with the bus as the music builds psychotically, (before hitting that awesome Judas riff that sounds like Zeppelin.)
