RoTJ Stormtroopers (Endor) vs CoD MW2

Darth Truculent
Palpatine discovers a backwater planet (Earth) and orders Vader and the Endor Stormtroopers to take the system, but have vague intelligence on Earth's troops training (especially Task Force 141 and 75th Rangers). Stormtroopers are equipped with standard weapons and AT-STs (no air support or bombardment from space). MW2 are armed with the weapons seen (in game) and same heroes. Does the Empire take Earth or fail?

This is what the Empire will face: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wxWbbzqRALU

Jinsoku Takai
Bye bye Earth.

Ewoks beat the Stormies... Earth wins easily.

Aaaah flashbacks!! Aaaaaaaaaaaah facepalms!!!!!

truejedi
earth does win this. Its just the Endor forces.

Pwned
yeh Earth wins

AC-130s FTW

Lord Lucien
Earth stomp.

MasterAshenVor
Put three AT-AT's in there and Earth dies horribly..

Pwned
Im thinkin a couple tactical nukes would take them out ;-)

Lord Lucien
I'm thinking anything with more kinetic energy than two logs.

MasterAshenVor
Earth wouldn't bother with nukes.. their too dangerous and if the Empire lands in a city... Well, but then again... there was Hiroshima and Nagasaki but I doubt anyone in this day and age would authorize any such use of power.

Lord Lucien
Unless your name ends with Il.

I cant think of anything Earth has that would take them out, short of nuclear weapons

Otherwise they just go shoot them

RE: Blaxican
W-Why would anyone think that a nuke would be nescesarry to destroy an AT-AT? T-That would be overkill. A couple missiles would probably make that top heavy summabitch just topple over.

Grenades... or Wire cords. stick out tongue

Pwned
Well, im thinkin of the facts
A) thermal detonators have FAR more explosive power than m-67s
B)there is a helluva lotta armor on them things, im not sure if a cruise m9issile could take one out

truejedi
tripping them gets her done.

Lord Lucien
Seriously, cords tripped them. Granted they were probably made of some Star Wars material, but the AT-AT's weren't using their ultra powerful shields or super strong armor to propel themselves. They still have mass and they still propel themselves at 60km/h. We don't even need to break their armor or shielding, just trip them. The Empire doesn't have the ground strength needed to conquer Earth (number notwithstanding).

truejedi
that was the only scene in SW where we ever saw AT-AT's wasn't it?

Lord Lucien
There was one guarding the landing pad in RotJ. It dropped Luke off to Vader. It was conveniently forgotten later.

MasterAshenVor
Yes.. Cord... btw, those cords had to wrap around the legs and they had snowspeeders for that. I doubt a Helicopter or F-22 would be suitable.

RE: Blaxican
Aaaand... why do you say that?

Pwned
Prolly cuz those cords werent steel, fiber glass, or anything we have on Earth, something far stronger and specifically designed to take down huge stuff by tripping them

You could have a walker made of diamond, but a taught enough cord wrapped around its legs will still trip it. It's not the material that the walker's made of, its the power behind its legs. If it's not enough to break the cord (60km/h max, unlikely) then it will trip.
