Well, it appears to be a peer to peer chatroom with media and file sharing capabilities, executed in real time, over a broadband internet connection.

It really is quite smart.

It seems like you can do things such as have a chat, and all the people in the room could listen to a CD being played by one of the participants on their PC and the music is piped to all the other recipients via the Internet.

I didn't read that much, but I guess it probably works with movie files as well. DVD would be a bit difficult due to the sheer size of the streaming required to maintain quality.

There's probably a lot more to it, but that was just one aspect I saw when I had a look.

No, it's not. It is traditioally used for that, but qualitywise it makes no difference. Just depends on your personal preference.

There's a slight difference...but anyway this isn't PC vs. Mac. And I think they'll eventually come out with a 3 Degrees for Mac..but I gotta wait.

I know that you can also share other files with a group members on this thing...and like Catch 22 said there's probably alot more to it...sounds cool though..and with as many music lovers as we have here.

Well, it's based off your desktop. So not really...but people can use it in conjunction with the board...listen to group music while they post..that sort of thing.
