Which team takes it?

Nihilist
Unless this is insane Lightyear, T2 gets a good majority

Warlord
^lovely sig.
Agreed

Nihilist
^cheers and I meant Lightraydur

Desaad
Cool battle.

Orion/BRB is a great battle, one that I give Orion the edge in.

Nova vs Lightray is another great one, and tougher. Lightray has more raw power and at least equal if not greater combat speed, but Nova is better equipped for a battle situation with his far superior strength and durability. 50/50.

So overall slight edge to team 1.

MrMind
team 1

More raw power?? Naaah.. Ill go as far as equal.. Are u saying this because of his sun feat?

Desaad
Yup, or generating heat equal to multiple suns. Both of those are far beyond anything Nova - or almost any herald, frankly - has done.

celeyhyga17
Multiple suns??
Hmm...

Desaad
"Perhaps a little SUPER HEAT, equal to a FEW SUNS, will do the job!!"

well the sun feat he blew up a field of drifting matter.. thats not even how a sun can form. just some weird stuff or "uneducated" writing. thats almost like magic.

and "heat equal to a few suns" is almost like hyperbole... meh....

dmills
Heat generation is not necessarily tantamount to raw power. Even the human torch busts out Supernova level heat.

lol
i hated that "nova blast" of his. then he'd pass out and stuff right after. lol...

Lightray has significant and expounded upon matter manipulation abilities as well. Presumably he used the drifting matter as the raw fuel, converting it into the correct balance of elements he needed and added the power needed to ignite the whole thing.

But it's hardly an indictment of GODS to say it was like magic. The end point is that he can bring that level of power to bear, regardless of the method, which puts him significantly above Nova's best raw power feats. Not combat feats, mind you, but raw power feats.

Of course, Lightray is also a brilliant strategist -- the ultimate strategist to Orion's ultimate tactician, is how I've always thought of him, and the flip side of Darkseid in that sense -- which is going to come into play, but he's not really a consummate, seasoned warrior, at least by the (admittedly high) standards of Kalibak and Orion.

Love the character.

yeah but exploded drifting matter? and within moments it's a sun? a star takes how many bajillions of years to form? it's like magic i tell ya!! anyways accepting this weird feat, it can be seen also that he started the formation of a sun and not powered it fully or created it since there were other components involved. it lessens the feat somewhat.

Haha, so first you try to discredit it by saying it's nonsensically impressive, then you try to discredit it by saying he had outside help so it's not impressive.

You see how desperate that sounds, right? It's bigger than anything Nova has ever done. Accept it, or don't, I don't care.

celeyhyga17
nope. not desperate here. im tellin u straight up it's not that impressive.

raw powerwise, I'm not exactly sure Lightray has the distinct edge.
NP created an upper magnitude stargate so massive it was detected 9.2 lightyears away. it was large enough to ferry through countless starships. to add to that, it looks as if he didnt even break a sweat. he continues busting warships on whim.

Especially when you think about the gravimetric forces involved in basically tearing a hole in space/time and collapsing distances like that. A true display of "raw power" as described in the narrative.

What does 'being detected' mean, though? Stars are detected from millions of light years away, and visually to. And the ability to open a stargate is not the same as directing the raw energy necessary to ignite and fuel a star. One can easily be turned into raw destructive power (applicable in a vs battle), the other cannot.

You mean like this:

http://i1215.photobucket.com/albums/cc513/dmills31/th_1295396433051.jpg

Or this?

http://i1215.photobucket.com/albums/cc513/dmills31/th_1295397000594.jpg http://i1215.photobucket.com/albums/cc513/dmills31/th_1295396961454.jpg http://i1215.photobucket.com/albums/cc513/dmills31/th_1295396976825.jpg

It's his gravimetric energy that powers the stargate. He can use it to do someting as grand as open that huge stargate or use it to destroy a fleet of Annihilus's moon sized dread ships. Annihilus felt it from light years away on 2 seperate occasions and he wanted it.

But to be fair we're probably arguing apple and oranges because the forces involved in the respective feats are so different.

Desaad
No, not 'like that'.

Those are distinct feats. One is not the same as another. The fact that someone can teleport someone doesn't mean that he can destroy that person, just that he can teleport that person.

wait now ure saying raw power as in an application for attack? u first meant overall raw power in general. those scan shows tremendous raw power. he didnt even break a sweat which means he has a vast well of power he can tap into. plus if u read carefully, his stargate didnt teleport them. they all were obliterated. the next panels after that page show Gamora talking about the gravimetric vortex obliterating all the sentries.
