Lex AND Darkseid? mmm

ringtones
lex rocks

StephenJondrew
I have to say that the show wasn't the same without him. He was such a good character and it sucks they lost him. I'm super excited to see him back.

TheMagicPillow
God i can't wait for this.

They have a Lex Luthor promo, with clips of him from the season finale. I don't know if i'm allowed to post it but just search Lex promo on YouTube if you haven't seen it.

Seems like we're not going to see Darkseid actually manifest without a host... Unless they have something big planned on that account...

~JP~
Im still trying to figure out just how it is that Johnathan Kent is at the wedding? blink

FistOfThe North
2hrs!

holy smackaroos! holy smakarinos!

and clark's to marry lois finally. they're such a mismatch. they're the complete opposites of each other. but that's the way the story goes.

i'll be there front and center..in front of my tv to watch it all unfold and hopefully see clark in a superman outfit sometime during the last half minute of the the show.

and jonathan's there in spirit. 2+2=4

BEST ENDING EVER!

Omg Smallville was AWESOME!!!

wakkawakkawakka
This was a pretty awesome ending!!!!!!

God i've been watching it for 10 years now and i can't believe its over. I'm really depressed right now lol

Amazing series finale.

And so it ends...

All in all, while I enjoyed it, I found it somewhat disappointing. I thought that story elements were more kind of thrown together than really woven; I thought some of the writing/dialogue was a bit cliche or hokey; and given the great threat Darkseid was supposed to be, I felt we got the short end of the stick (visually) in how Clark dealt with him and Apokolyps.

And while I understood the reason for not really, fully ever showing Clark in his Roth suit close up, it would've been nice, once.

Plus, while it began to hit me that Welling really bears a good, solid resemblance to Superman (now that he's in his 30s and not his 20s like Roth)...I'm sorry to say, I never thought he was all that great of an actor, especially in his voice. It just never sounded Supermanish.

I did think Durance did a good job though: best eyes-welling-with-tears since Kreuk. And Rosenbaum...one of the best Lex's ever, IMO.

And my prediction (posted in a thread somewhere during the Doomsday season) regarding the last shot we'd see of Clark was fulfilled: him running toward the camera, pulling open his shirt to reveal, well, you know.

Overall, though at times the series was formulaic and soap-opera-ish, very often the writing/plot and characterization were very good. "Smallville" is going to be a tough act to follow for the next Superman series (and you know there will be one eventually).

Agree.
Also, did they reuse FX from the Singer Movie for the apokolips in space scene?

I actually thought the last twenty minutes was a big two finfgers to Returns, a "we did it better than you" sort of thing.

Could have done with more fighting in the finale, but all in all, it wasn't bad at all.

Galan007
I thought it was pretty good, and it ended appropriately.

The only part I found extremely anticlimactic was the end 'battle(s)' between Clark/Darkseid/Apokolips. I mean, they spent 2 full hours building up Darkseid and Apokolips as these unbeatable entities. Then Clark beats Darkseid in a few seconds via flying through him - afterward, he dons 'the suit', pushes Apokolips a smidgen out of earth's orbit, and that somehow averted the disaster?

Kind of weak, but I still liked the finale as a whole (particularly the scenes with Pa Kent.)

darthmaul1
I loved it, it weas very well done, especially by using the music by John Williams. Here's a question on the last show before the 2hr finale, with toyman he is seen talking to a group of people, and gives them a dossier with the whole justice league in it and says here are your targets. could they be thinking of doing a justice league spin off? seems kind of weird to show it and nothing would come of it.

Dr Mystery
I've always thought they would do the Justice League in some capacity. Guess we'll wait and see.

Badabing
They had a "sort of" JLA and JSA, and showed a Legion of Doom. Not sure if they're setting up for something or just trolling us. ahuh

Nyan Cat
This forum is now an historic monument.

Smallville
I was a little disappointed. More than likely it was because I went into the finale being disappointed with a good portion of the series from season 6 onward. Please, before you attack, continue to read on.

Reasons I was disappointed with the finale

1) As was stated before, they never completely showed Tom in the suit. Only neck up views or wide shots where you could not see him in his entirety. At least once...

2) Since when can Darkseid be defeated by a double-fisted diving punch?

3) Mercy was around long after Clark took up the Superman moniker.

4) Clark and Lois getting married before he puts the suit on? No...

... I could go on, but I think you get where I am going with this. And, the reason I still watch and the reason I am not angry at the show is that not adaptation of any book, be it a novel or a comic, will ever remain 100% true to the original text. So, all in all, it was a little disappointing, but still a good way to close out the show. Well done.

They didnt. They wern't even married 7 years later (if I understood correctly)

A bit disappointed in the finale, as well as the final season. My biggest beaf, Not enough Lex. Also did Lex forget everything?! I didn't get that. They shouldn't have left unanswered questions like that in the Finale.

Also was hoping for more of the JL. Never saw MMH in last season, and I dnt even remember which was the last season we saw Impulse. Of course I wnt mind any of that if they do a JL series, but I wnt keep my hopes up!
