REXXXX
Wa

Relle- you are in your room at the Fellowship's headquarters, doing whatever you wish to be doing at the moment. It has been a very quiet day for you... but now your comlink starts to beep.

b1plusb2
Relle will have been meditating and cleaning her guns and saber. She straps all three to her belt when she gets her summons and goes to see what is needed from her.

REXXXX
Your comlink blurbs a message from the Elder calling you to his audience chamber.

The headquarters of the Fellowship are a very shadowy place, all dimly lit corridors with thin vertical lighting strips every few feet in the halls and arching over your head. It is very difficult to navigate, unless you grew up within its walls. It is even easier for Relle as she has the Force on her side, the only assassin of the Fellowship to possess such talents.

The Elder's chamber is deep within the Fortress of the Fellowship. You come to it and stand before the heavy metal door that seals him away.

b1plusb2
Relle stands before it as she has many times before, then raps on the door to let the Elder know she is here.

REXXXX
There is a moment of silence... and then the door metal block slides inwards slowly. It does not drag, floating upon an invisible cushion of air. Then it stops.

"Come in, my child," comes the strong voice of the Elder.

b1plusb2
Relle will step into the chamber past the metal block. She remains quiet and respectful, as she feels she must around the Elder unless he asks for her words.

How does Relle feel about the Elder?

REXXXX
The chamber inside is cold, very cold. It is a tall cylindrical room, made of black stone, the walls stretching up into darkness. Aside from the metal slab that covers the entrance, there is nothing in here. Very austere.

The Elder himself is a powerful being, though not in the way that you are. Being an Anzati, like you, he has all the qualities of your race- a naturally impressive physique, stunning good looks, and low level 'supernatural' abilities. However, the Elder has spent his entire life perfecting his body and his mind.

The only true indication of his age is his snow-white hair, pulled back into a loose ponytail, and his eyes have gone blind with age. His body might be in better shape than your own, Relle. You fear and respect him.

He is in a meditative stance, seated in the center of the chamber.

"Welcome," he says, simply.

b1plusb2
Relle bows respectfully, wondering if the Elder can sense her action since he cannot see it. She figures that he can sense that she is trying to be respectful.

"Elder," she says. "You have summoned me?"

REXXXX
"I have," he says. "The Fellowship is in need of your talents."

b1plusb2
"What is thy bidding, Elder?" Relle asks.

REXXXX
"As you know, the Fellowship is not simply a league of assassins," the Elder says. "We have our... business interests. And one sector of business is being closed off to us. We need you to reopen it."

b1plusb2
"I know very little about business, Elder," Relle says. I assume she does not know much about the other activities of the Fellowship.

REXXXX
"Your business is death, and you know it very well," says the Elder.

Relle is kept out of the political power plays of the Fellowship. You are simply their means of defending themselves and destroying enemies, as are others like you (well, not totally like you; the whole Dark Jedi thing is rather exclusive). You do know that the Fellowship dabbles in slavery, getting a steady flow of people to feed on.

b1plusb2
"Then I am to kill to fix this problem," Relle says.

REXXXX
"Precisely. A new Senator has been elected to represent the planet Tutalone. He presents a problem for the Fellowship. Eliminate him and our power in that sector returns. Fail and he will shut us out."

b1plusb2
"You want me to assassinate a Senator?" Relle asks. "That is a high profile target, Elder. It will be dangerous."

REXXXX
"Do you doubt yourself?" the Elder asks sternly.

b1plusb2
"Of course not," Relle says. "It will be done. I just worry about the attention it may bring to the Fellowship."

REXXXX
"It should not bring any," the Elder says, "if you execute him without revealing yourself."

b1plusb2
"Of course. Who is this Senator that I am to assassinate?"

REXXXX
"Senator Gallifer of Tutalone," the Elder says. "I will tell you nothing more, and your assignment is given. May the Force be with you..."

The Elder falls back into his meditative trance.

b1plusb2
Relle will depart the Elder's presence to go prepare for her mission to Tutalone to kill the Senator.

What resources does Relle have at her disposal because of her Ties to the Fellowship?

REXXXX
The Fellowship is very much about the Anzati that make up its membership. Many talented specialists with a network of connections and contacts rather than a huge resource in its own right. It likes to stay subtle and avoid machines aside from its small fleet of stealth ships.

b1plusb2
Avoids machines? Does that mean they don't really have any toys I can borrow to help me?

And what kind of specialists?

REXXXX
The Fellowship is not big on Devices, no.

And it depends on what Relle is looking for!

b1plusb2
Relle wants to know more about her target and where he is from.

REXXXX
It just so happens that the Fellowship has a diplomat who is well-versed in political figures. His name is Rylph, and acts as the Elder's representative in diplomatic dealings.

He wants to know how he can help you in your assignment after you find him in his office.

b1plusb2
Relle will ask Rylph to tell her everything he knows about Senator Gallifer. And about Tutalone.

REXXXX
"Ah, Tutalone," Rylph says. "Rather staunchly opposed to dealings with the Fellowship, for a few reasons. Our history with them is rather unsettling for our kind. Very grim, very dark."

b1plusb2
"What happened?" Relle says. "Why won't they deal with us?"

REXXXX
"Long ago, there was a minority of Anzati on Tutalone. They operated a small-time criminal gang for the purpose of feeding on other races. Then, one of them was arrested and executed in a mock trial by the Tutalian Mafia. The Anzati went on a rampage in retaliation. All were killed despite the damage they inflicted; the Mafia called in the Jedi. It is situations like these that brought about the creation of the Fellowship."

b1plusb2
"So the anti-Anzati sentiment is still strong on Tutalone, then. Is the Mafia still in power?"

REXXXX
"Not in power. Just very influential in the government. Some say that the new Senator you are to assassinate has ties with them."

b1plusb2
"Is that why the Elder wants me to kill him?" Relle asks. "An old feud?"

REXXXX
"No. The Senator is making it harder for outside 'business' to be active on his world."

b1plusb2
"I see. And killing him will make it easier?"

REXXXX
"His political opponents are not pushing against us or other outside business, so yes. The Elder must be counting on his elected replacement to be more willing to cooperate."

b1plusb2
"I see," Relle says. "What can you tell me about the Senator himself?"

REXXXX
"Senator Gallifer is a corruptible man with his own agendas," says Rylph. "Born and raised on Tutalone, he's a man of the people. He was elected on a platform of ending government corruption and improving basic services."

Rylph laughs.

"You understand, of course, why that platform is silly, yes?"

b1plusb2
"No," Relle says.

-

Also, Relle wants to see if there are any other personnel she can enlist to help her with her assignment. Unless the Elder wants her to do it alone.

REXXXX
"Several reasons! For one, the Senator himself likely is supporting his own criminal activities. Even if he isn't, it will be nearly impossible for him to reign in the activities of the Mafia. He cannot oppose them and it is ludicrous that he is trying."

-

The Elder is unwilling to allow other assassins to help you. He is confident you can do this on your own.

b1plusb2
Hmm.

"What can you tell me about the Mafia?" Relle asks. "Perhaps I can use their dislike of the Senator to my advantage."

REXXXX
Rylph explains that the Mafia is not really very united as a criminal organization. It is subdivided in territories and run by a whole rogue's gallery, ranging from brutish enforcers to petty thieves to criminal masterminds.

"It is more of a term used to cover all the interconnected criminal groups," Rylph says. "'The Mafia is everywhere,' that sort of thing. Not much crime exists on Tutalone that is not tied back into that idea somehow."

He thinks it possible that you may find some help within the criminal underworld with your plot.

b1plusb2
Relle is pleased with his answer about finding assistance in the Mafia, but not with the vagueness of the Mafia.

"Are there no figureheads that I could approach? Nobody notable?"

REXXXX
"Hmmm," Rylph says. "You may need to investigate that once you arrive on Tutalone. I am not familiar with the likes of the Mafia, though the Fellowship has performed dealings with them. I may be able to provide a contact for you. Otherwise, you are on your own as soon as you step foot on Tutalonian soil."

b1plusb2
"That would be much appreciated," Relle says gratefully, though annoyed that he was unable to tell her anything more useful about the Mafia's operations. "Is there anything else I should know about the Senator or his opponents?"

REXXXX
Rylph cannot think of anything extremely important.

b1plusb2
Mkay.

Relle is going to get underway then.

REXXXX
Okay! The Fellowship is willing to ferry you off of Wa in order to get you to the main space travel routes; after that, you are on your own getting to Tutalone. Fortunately, Tutalone is close to many spacer lanes.

b1plusb2
Does Relle have funds for getting to Tutalone?

If she can, she'll take a private ship to Tutalone, enlisting the help of some smuggler or spacer that can fly her there.

Otherwise, she will sneak aboard a public transport going that way. They can't trace me if I never signed a registry.

REXXXX
Relle has been given some meager funds, just enough to get her to Tutalone. The Fellowship tries to avoid leaving money trails.

Easy enough to find a private ship, with plenty of spacers and smugglers on the trade routes.

b1plusb2
Relle will try to enlist an innocuous, uninteresting spacer without reputation in order to get the Tutalone, not wanting someone that will draw attention.

REXXXX
It doesn't take you long to find someone like that, some down on his luck spacer willing to take you wherever for a lump sum of credits. He asks no questions and says little other than telling you where to go and when he's leaving.

And so you are en route to Tutalone!

b1plusb2
Relle will meet with the spacer at the designated time and place and board the ship, ready for the journey.

REXXXX
It does not take long. Soon the ship is soaring through space, jumping into hyperspace, and dropping out into the orbit of Tutalone.

b1plusb2
Relle looks out the viewport onto the planet, knowing that she is about to cause a great deal of trouble for it.

"Take me in," Relle says. "I intend to sneak out of the starport undetected. Can you distract them for me?"

REXXXX
"I mean, I already have business down there...." the spacer says. "Just slip out the back while I talk to port authority."

b1plusb2
"Right."

Relle will find a hatch that she can slip out of and wait until whoever comes to talk to the spacer has done so, so she can be sure that they are distracted when she gets out of here.

Then she is going to leave the starport and explore the city she has landed in.

REXXXX
There is a hatch that lets you out onto the freighter's top.

Sure enough, the spacer is approached and asked for his business.

You have some options. There is a maintenance door next to the ship that leads into the starport's innards. Or you think you could clear jump onto the bay's roof, where there is an assortment of stuff you can sneak behind.

b1plusb2
Relle will go for the roof. Less likely to run into people that way.

REXXXX
It is a simple jump from the starship's top to the roof, which Relle nearly fails! She gets the only necessary success on her last die of 12.

The Intrusion check goes much better, passing with four successes.

Relle has slipped out quietly onto the the docking bay roof.

b1plusb2
Relle will now slip quietly out of the starport across the docking bay rooftop. She makes a point to not go near anyone she senses closeby.

REXXXX
The starport is an active place. You manage to navigate your way around the rooftop without running into anyone or being spotted. Eventually you reach a spot that you can slip down unnoticed.

You are clear!

b1plusb2
Now that she is out of the starport, she is going to go find a bar.

REXXXX
Are you going to wander around until you find one?

b1plusb2
No. She will try to find one near the starport. She will ask around for an older bar, if anyone can point her to one.

REXXXX
Without Savoir-Faire, it is kind of difficult to navigate that way. You can rely on the word of locals, though, and they point you toward the downtown area of the city the starport is in.

The buildings of Tutalone are all built from a gleaming, yellowed marble. Many sport columns and pillars that are intricately engraved, especially in the downtown area where things appear to be much older.

There are a few clubs and bars in the area. Nothing that you can really get a feel for just by asking around.

b1plusb2
She will try to see if any of them look particular sketchy or populated by rough types.

REXXXX
Parts of the downtown quarter look less modernized than others, so you do manage to home in on a club simply called 'Curbstomp.' Sounds like your kind of place, and it is populated by good ol' scum and villainy.

b1plusb2
Relle will go inside and start looking around.

REXXXX
It is your typical tavern, Relle- a bar at the far wall, with seating all about, booths along the near walls, and a set of stairs to a smaller upper level where there are more booths and tables.

The bouncer- a tough grizzled man- asks for your ID.

b1plusb2
"Why do you want it?" Relle asks, curtly.

REXXXX
"Gotta check your age, little lady," the bouncer says. "Hand it over."

b1plusb2
"I don't think so," Relle says. "I'm kind of a private person."

REXXXX
"Then you're not coming in," he says, firmly.

b1plusb2
"I beg to differ," Relle says. "Let me in or I'll let myself in."

REXXXX
If Relle could provide something to prove how threatening she is, I can make that an Intimidation check.

b1plusb2
Relle will be gutsy and grab this man where is really hurts.

REXXXX
That should do it, then! He certainly wants to keep his manhood and you are let in.

Of course, now you are being watched by most of the bar.

b1plusb2
To the bar, then.

REXXXX
You step up to the bar. The place itself is generally uncrowded, but the bart itself has no free seating. You have to wedge in to get to the bartender. He is a fat human that does not acknowledge you, too busy mixing other drinks for patrons.

b1plusb2
"Can I get some service over here?" Relle asks.

REXXXX
The bartender stumbles over.

"What'll it be?" he asks, lazily.
