I've recently noted that Tia Dalma is barefoot in the film-based comics of the same name. That seems a little strange... Do you think she was barefoot all the time in the movies?

Of course an old school goddess is going to go barefoot. Especially if she's a sea goddess. She's going to go barefoot everywhere.

Why do you think so?

when you're on the beach, do you walk with your shoes on?
when you go wading in the water at the edge of the ocean, do you walk with your shoes on?
she IS the ocean, and wearing proper shoes is not the spirit of the sea. the spirit of the sea is free and easy, breezy and a little lazy. that's the sea with a good mood. so tia dalma physically represents that by wearing no shoes.
