In the Dragon Age era, Hawke cast a spell on the Sir Isaac of Clarke armor which grants any wearer to become a mage like himself. The Grey Warden did the same with his Blood Dragon armor. In the future on the Sprawl during the Necromorph outbreak, Isaac finds the armor with his name on it and puts it on and is now a Mage. Meanwhile on the Normandy, Commander Shepard gets a call from Admiral Hackett and tells him that the Alliance lost contact with a space colony several hours ago and needs someone to investigate and so Shepard went while wearing Blood Dragon armor. He gets there and meets Isaac but not before he makes a group of Necromoprhs fly. Seeing this as an opportunity to kill Clarke, the Marker uses the dementia Isaac has to make him believe that Shepard is a psychopath and is about to kill him and so Isaac attacks.
Isaac is a Force Mage and even though he has magic, he still carries his arsenal of weapons like the plasma cutter, pulse rifle, contact beam, and seeker rifle which are all fully upgraded.
Renegade Shepard is a Blood Mage and before becoming one, he was soldier class so no, he doesn't have any Biotics. He still has his guns like the M-3 Heavy Predator Pistol, M-V Vindicator Battle Rifle, a geth shotgun, and a viper sniper rifle.
Both of them have had enough prep time to know how to use their magical abilities and are practically masters of what they're using.
This magic/gun fight takes place in the Church of Unitology.
