Actually they're saying he said: "Reorganizing the world order will need to extend beyond the financial system and involve the United Nations." which has the same problem. It's a statement entirely contained within the conspiracy community.

you put a statement in quotations, immediately preceded by "george soros:", this, in all forms of written communication, indicates a direct quotation. The colon and the quotation marks.

If you are not directly quoting him, you are, literally, twisting words. Or inventing words. Feel free to call it which ever you think is more intellectually honest

Also, part of the UN's problem is how impotent it is. That's what they are saying. Sure, it has the POTENTIAL to be quite powerful. IMO, it's not as powerful as it should be. I'd like to see international courts actually have weight. I'd like to see international law developed to prevent bitches from doing shit (that's just my very lazy way of not having to type out out a paragraph explaining what I mean and giving examples.)

Well in that case, if this is going to happen no matter what and it's out of our control considering the powers that be, what positive purpose does knowing serve? Wouldn't ignorance be bliss, as Cypher said?

The sad part in all of this conspiracy garbage, is just how true it is becoming in the minds of people, who a decade ago, would have just dismissed this sort of thing for the fringe, lunatic conspiracy theory it is. People who feed on it and propogate it are saying the rise in this crap being taken seriously is people waking up to the truth. The reality of it is, though, in this country, that the right has gone so crazy over the election of a black, supposedly-socialist, democrat to the white house that they've become desperate to find anything to substantiate their beliefs, even if it means wholesaling their entire party to the ****ing craziest people in it. It's more and more creeping in to the mainstream and being believed by rational but pissed off party line pundants. They know most of it is bullshit, but it's so much more evil and devious than anything Obama is actually doing, that it sells well to the hardliners. It's like driving a nail in a piece of wood with a jackhammer; it's just overkill and I can't wait for it to bite them in the ass. It will, at least, give these loons something to talk about for the next 4 years.

Sure it's conspiracy garbage. Look at what happened during the second Bush term; the conspiracy theorists like Alex Jones ranted and raved about Bush, now it's Obama in his target. These people whip others into a frenzy depending on who was elected last, depending on which party needs to be placated at the moment. Obama isn't an American citizen who was chosen by the NWO to inspire latte liberals into forcing America to march headlong into a socialist one world government -is the call now. Two years ago it was how Bush planned 9/11 in order to convince redneck Republicans to impose nazism on America, forcing everyone into a one world government. It's always the same story, the villains just change to fit the times.
