Who wins? Current Alan Scott.

JakeTheBank
Probably Zoom.

Has Zoom shown the ability to effect or otherwise get to airborne opponents?

i asked that before in the odin thread. apparently zoom is not very good if the guy can fly. i'd have thought he could at least use wind effects to attack indirectly. if sentinel is airborne at the start all he needs to do is worry about being able to hit zoom. not sure how he'd do that, though if it's a ring-style fight an omniblast should work. erm

if he starts in the air (and it's a ring) it should be sentinel's fight to win.

Mindset
Couldn't Zoom just dodge or vibrate through every attack?

Rhetorical question.

He could.

but how long can he stay, er, vibration-ey....?

NOT rhetorical.

Zoom can't vibrate, only Speedforcers can do that.

But yes, he could dodge each attack.

He's also known for creating sonic booms by snapping his fingers, and I think he could throw stuff fast enough to be dangerous.

NOT rhetorical. As long as his stamina allows.

Probably all night.

Prof Zoom has, but any time Zolomon Zoom has was an error- he specifically does *not* have that power, a fact that's been made clear and used against him.

It's an error when characters specifically state on-page that he doesn't.

Like when he had Bart held and Jay threw his hat at them because "Bart could vibrate through it, Zoom couldn't."

Remember, he's not 'actually' fast, he's just ahead in time.

Mindset
Jay was wrong, because Zoom has done it.

I hope I've helped you clear up your confusion.

Jay was right, because he's not supposed to be able to do it, it's just some other writer got it wrong.

It was, after all, specifically explained and then demonstrated in practice, and it was a writer not as familiar with the character who messed up.

Mindset
Was there an editor's note saying the writer got it wrong?

No.

OK.

I'm right, you're wrong.

Nothing to see here.

where are all the Flash/Zoom backers that would scoff at "starts in the air"?

hmm.............

I agree with Mindset, he has. I've seen it on panel.

i've seen him vibrate as well, but only for brief periods of time so a sustained omniblast should still be enough to garner the win.

and that's all it takes--someone to be in the air against this unbeatable forum force??? hmmm....

hehehe...

my "starts in the air" comment was about the crazy flak I received for a similar thread a few weeks back. a deluge of "u stooped or something rebuttals"

stick out tongue

It has happened, but when a character shows a power that they're specifically mentioned not to have but a similar character does, do you assume it's not a mix up?

Because, again, Zoom has been mentioned as not having this power.

Mindset
By a fallible character that wasn't Zoom.

I guess it's a good thing Zoom showed he could do it to end the confusion.

And yes, Zoom has vibrated through objects/opponents. If you don't like it, tough shiz. uhuh

uhuh so without the construct, zoom would've not been able hit hal then.

so without the construct, zoom would've not been able hit hal then. Probably not. Since Zoom isn't a user of the speed force, he can't preform some of the more obscure tasks they can (ie. running without a physical plane under him.)

His best bet against an opponent who was already in the air would be to either avoid their attacks entierly, and/or fire off some thunder-snaps/Zoom-blasts.

celeyhyga17
so this fight starts with Alan in air?

Galan007
I wouldn't think so...

Because, again, Zoom has been mentioned as not having this power. It's times like this that I go to my go to source. Let me quote the late Galan double zero seven:
