Did Superboy get a lot better after issue three, because that's when I dropped it? I picked up issue 6 for the Doomsday crossover and it wasn't great. Do you think I should I try and pick up 4, 5 and 7?

I thought as a whole, Superboy is great. And I didn't expect anything from it.

If you didn't like it then, you'll probably not like it now. It's not for everyone.

Prep-Man
Oh, I forgot JSA. Marc's run has been great so far. I'll replace Teen Titans for JSA.

-Pr-
I honestly thought the Johns written Adventure Comics Superboy stuff was better. Doomsday issue wasn't bad though...

AlmightyKfish
1. Hellblazer
2. FF
3. GLC/Emerald Warriors
4. Uncanny X-force
5. X-men Legacy

Formerly Guardians would have been on top but that ended too quickly, and Thor used to be pretty high until Fraction's run.

And if the quality of first issue of Journey into Mystery is kept up I think that'll probably be in my top 5, seeing as the first issue was awesome.

Allankles
Of the stuff I'm reading
1. Xombi - just got on my radar 2 to 3 weeks ago, like the concept.
2. Elephantman - just started reading it.
3. Four Eyes - although it takes an eternity to get an issue.
4. Fables - related titles, I have a ways to catch up with the current ongoings.
5. Action Comics - been a good run by Cornell (his previous space adventure comic was pretty good, a writer to watch).
6. Superman/Batman - the Sorceror Kings story arch is interesting.

Agreed. Good thing Fraction's Era is over.

Seems to be a trend of Gillen being much better than Fraction.

Gillen left Thor and Fraction replaced him, and was far worse.

And now Gillen has replaced Fraction on Uncanny and his two issues have been pretty sweet, better than Fraction's.

JSA has been really lucky. It hasn't really been off since the original Crisis (before that I didn't follow them). I think part of it is that the characters are treated with more reverence (since it's the "throwback" Silver Agers and their descendants all hanging out together), and so the writers just write some good stories instead of trying to reinvent the wheel with gimmicks and events. Hell, the writer of the original Crisis admitted to being scared of killing off anyone that was "before his time" due to the legacy....I think that mentality leaked over, and it's been a good thing.

Prep-Man
If you aren't reading Xombi, DO IT! IMO, it's the number 1 book out there. Only 2 issues in, but i love all the weird ideas and the atmosphere is great, just like Uncanny X-Force. I change my vote for Xombi being number 1, DC or Marvel.

I mean, you can't mess with Catholic Girl or Nun of the Above!

Fred Perry's Gold Digger
REBELS
JLA All-Stars (yes, All-Stars. It's surprising awesome)
IDW's D&D comic
Red Robin

And two of 'em are ending sad So if I bump those two off, Secret Six and X-23.

I think JSA All-Stars is very hit and miss. Not very consistent. I'll give it stars, because it had some Hourman 1M cameos. What is D&D comic?

Kazenji
Dungeons & Dragons.

Oh, thanks. Didn't know they had a book of that.

There's been a lot over the years, but the current one from IDW is the most awesome. It doesn't even have it's first trade yet, but it's good.

It's written by John Rogers, formerly of Blue Beetle.

I think 6.

Right now, I think I'll add Witchblade/Artifacts to the list. Beautiful art on that thing, and great story ever since Ron Marz took over (part of a planned 70 issue run!).

1) ASM
2) New Avengers
3) Avengers Academy
4) Wolverine
5) Avengers or FF
Current Deadpool run sucks.

basilisk
No particular order:

- Thunderbolts (not as good as it has been in the past and the art could be better, but I still enjoy it)

- Avengers Academy (except the Korvac story, ehhh)

umm... REBELS is gone. Let's see - did I mention Thunderbolts already? Hmm.

Marvel Previews (can see what's coming up in Avengers Academy and Thunderbolts)

OK that's it for me...

Q99
So, current list:

Witchblade
Fred Perry's Gold Digger
Star Wars Old Republic
Power Girl
Batgirl

DC tends to have titles on my list, but there seems to be a lot of churn between titles ended in the last few months, and the coming September reset. We'll see if they'll still have any on there.

Lets hope Marz can give the witchblade treatment to Voodoo. I hear great things about Witchblade.

Avengers Academy.
FF.
Captain America.
Godzilla.
Hellboy.

And well, there were R.E.B.E.L.S. and the Outsiders which were cancelled, right? JL: Generation Lost was fun too.

Well, I admit that Didio was mostly my problem with Outsiders, so I understand the low sales. He was kind of a death sentence.

Prep-Man
Red Hood and the Outsiders is coming back, written by Lobdell, who does pretty well with teams. Generation X, anybody? Yeah, I'll check it out.

There's some part of me hoping it bombs so he can do more Top Cow stuff ^^ But yea, there's potential for something good there.

UCLGeogPhD
Of my current list I only have four really (no particular order):

1. Secret Six (Can't believe its cancelled come September)

2. Booster Gold (At least he should feature heavily in JLI)

3. Batman and Robin (A little worried about how this will work come reboot as the dynamic between Dick and Damien totally relies on one being 'darker' than the other. Can't see how a dark Bruce and a dark Damien is going to work to the same degree)

4. Batman

The others I currently collect (all DC) have dropped in quality recently, in particular The Outsiders which I'm just getting till september just out of loyalty to what it was before DiDio made it all frankly boring and dead-ended.

At least it's getting a wrap up.

psycho gundam
x-force: sex & violence

not sure if it's still ongoing atm but my god was that ever bad ass.

Q99
I'm pretty sure it was a mini-series.

Uncanny X-Force is the current X-Force ongoing.

StiltmanFTW
Yeah, it was a mini. It got seriously delayed.

psycho gundam
oh well, x-force is cool as well and like that one it too should be ultra-violent.

HueyFreeman
Been a while but
X-force
Secret Six
Moriarty
Journey into Mystery
Shield

vansonbee
X-Factor
Incredible Hulks
Iron man
THUNDERBOLTS
X-23

AlmightyKfish
Sadly enough, most of my favourite titles from DC are not being renewed for the reboot. Secret Six, Batgirl (as in Steph Batgirl), Red Robin are all gone, and Birds of Prey not only got a bad ending (the last two issues are effectively a random stand alone story not written by Simone) but once it reboots will inevitably suffer from the lack of Oracle...

Rumor has it that Secret Six will be coming through on the second wave of books.

I'm actually looking forward to BOP, because Duane is a solid writer on these types of books. Cable, Iron Fist, and Black Widow are solid reads.

Sucks for Red Robin. I'm picking up the trades and it's easily in my top 5.

Rage.Of.Olympus
Journey Into Mystery
Thunderbolts
Punisher Max
Avengers Academy
Uncanny X-Force
X-Factor

Recent issues of T-bolts disappointed me a bit.

Bentley
Right now:

Godzilla
2000 AD
Avengers Academy
Captain America
Hellboy

Honorary mention: FF

Actually, those six are pretty much the only things I've been reading and enjoying consistently for a while now.

remender
Action Comics 9 just got a 9.5 from IGN. AC is better than anything Marvel has to offer. In fact outside of Daredevil and X-force all of Marvel's comics are mediocre at best. Even AvX is failing big time, and Wolverine as usual has some of the most horrendous, intelligence insulting works in fiction period.

ares834
I'm inclined to agree. All though FF isn't bad and Ultimates is great.

Action Comics
Batman
Ultimates
Demon Knights
Wonder Woman

remender
Yeah the Forever Arc was pretty sick, Marvel just needs to keep their quality consistent instead of having a year's worth of crap and cheap cash in's and having an good story arc here or there.

DC has had some stinkers also but their quality is far more consistent than Marvel's.

But of course since Marvel generally appeals to stupid people, the majority of their fans have no problem getting ripped off for stories that have little to offeer besides flashy colors and explosions

Galan007

It's a series published by Image, written by Joe Casey. It's about a Batman-type character retiring, and how he adapts to the world now that he's not saving it any longer.
