My guess: ST is just not an "it" topic these days (unlike, say, comic superheroes).

The fact is that a franchise has to be MASSIVE and in its hot phase to warrant a whole section to itself.

Trek- like Doctor Who- would be better served by just having one or two threads; ironically, giving something its own section can often mean less traffic rather than more, especially when people get more desperate for thread topics.
